I'm not even sure what to say to that...It seems like a good concept, but I can't see it being implemented in our line of work.

Runs on Gas,,
I see limited use, limited fuel, noise (engine&feet), limited user interface..
BUT, it's a hell of a Pack-Bot demonstrator. I first watch the videos last year, the demo was much more vigorous,, it showed someone kicking the snot out of the Bot and it did a very good job of staying up-right.
Technology wise I give it a 7.5-8.5, but it's still to young for field use..
Now here is an older technology that has many advantages:
- stealth
- fuel readily available world wide
- low maintenance
- can be converted to a rudimentary food supplement

But, can it serve sushi like the Japanese robots?

Who's laying odds on how long it takes someone to ask if they can take one to SFAS?

The enemy might just think it's the local gardeners mowing lawns and let it be.
Reminds me of the other robot prototype that was intended to rescue the wounded, with a giant teddy bear face.

I found the sound it makes a bit disturbing. It sounds like a pissed off bug, but looks like a headless ox. If some uninformed & superstitious bloke came across that thing in the middle of nowhere, he might crap his pants off.
It has impressive feat (multiple gyros?) that prevents it from falling, but the demo does not show whether it can get back on its feet after laying belly up.

Got Sand?
Where's the demo of it operating in sand?
It gave me the Terminator vibe as well.

Maybe there are questions to be answered, but I'm glad to see the tech guys focused on making the life the ground-pounding Joe a little easier. Even as is something like that could be a real asset in non-tactical movements or in other specific situations.
Believe me, if you knocked on the door to our team room and asked us if we had a use for it, we'd find room and figure out the what for later.
Hats off to the scientists who are trying to make OUR lives easier. (I'm not sure how much F22 pilots suffer). If it's for a profit, so much the better.
