An amendment to a defense policy bill would forbid efforts to plant upbeat news stories.

It seems he has taken issue the way that Fox News has been covering the war.

Say this legislation weren't just passed for the Iraq war; what happens when there's another major war, a la WW2, where we need up-beat and positive stories to keep the morale of our fighters and our nation strong? Then it'll be "unlawful". Pure. Effin. Genius.

I don't see it going very far, but that fact that such a prospect is proposed is rediculous.
