I have something that I wanted to bring to the attention of the Professional Soldier community.
I am acquainted with Randy Couture, Five-time UFC champ and media celebrity. He runs a charitable organization called the Xtreme Couture G.I. Foundation.
This exceptional non-profit program provides: funding for wounded combat vets that are experiencing financial crisis, helping to pay urgent bills for the family of the wounded veteran; help in paying bills for those who can't handle the extra expense of staying near a convalescing soldier undergoing treatment; and helping discharged wounded soldiers transition back to start their civilian lives.
Additional activities: the G.I. Foundation hosted a Memorial Day Tribute Event this year. Wounded soldiers also have the opportunity to spend a weekend with Randy Couture, full of motivation and inspiration.
The latest G.I. Foundation fund-raising event- a charity poker tournament that raised almost $100,000 for the cause. Randy also has a commitment by one of his endorsements, AXIS Shavers, for their donation of ALL the profits from their Couture line, up to $100,000.
The great part is this- Randy is looking for sincere letters from wounded combat vets that need help from the Foundation. If you, or are a friend or family member of a combat veteran, wounded in any of the recent military campaigns, the G.I. Foundation is there to help, and is requesting your letters or inquiries about the program or requests for assistance. Alpha Dad Web Magazine is a supporter of the Foundation, and assisting to connect the vets in need with the organization.
Wounded combat veterans, or their families, can write their inquiry or request for support and send to:
GIFoundation@alphadad.net, and I will put their letter/inquiries to the Foundation.
More information about the Foundation can be found at:
http://www.xtremecouturegifoundation.org/index.htm.
This is an honest, open offer to help wounded combat vets in need of assistance. We're not asking for anything but your inquiry or letter indicating a request for support, or enrollment in the support program. It's a great cause that is ready to help wounded veterans.
Randy, an Army vet himself, sincerely means it with the motto- Play Hard; Give Back.
Any questions or issues can be also be sent to the address above.
Please circulate this notification of an assistance program that is available for wounded combat veterans, as appropriate.
