Any Conspiracy Theorists out there??
I recently found this video on the internet and thought that it presented some valid arguments on some serious topics. The movie analyzes Chritianity, 9/11, and the Federal Reserve. The movie came out around june of this year so I'm sure someone on this forum has seen it, but if not I think it may spark some good debates.
If you've got about 2 hours to kill, Here is the link for the movie:

I am curious about what you guys think......

I think conspiracy theorists are part of a conspiracy to lower the IQ of the world in general.

I think it is a waste of bandwidth, like most conspiracy theories.
The same people seem to come out from underneath the rocks every time each new conspiracy theory is proposed.

If your truly interested in learning more about the creation of the Federal Reserve system, then read The Creature From Jekyl Island, A second look at the Federal Reserve authored by G. Edward Griffin.
It's 600 pages, if your up to it. Does the word "Cartel" have any meaning ??

That's basically what this (not sure if I want to call it a documentary) movie expresses how the creators of the Fed Res's (good ole boy network... I.E. Prominent Banking families such as the Rockefellers, Morgans, Rothchilds...etc) corrupt inception took place, and how since its creation has been a constant soure of deception and fraud. I thought this segment was really interesting and makes sense of our national debt due to the fact that it is some insane astronomical figure that is unlikely to ever be paid back.
Basically the Fed Reserve Commission yields great influence and unchecked power over our nation......which in my eyes is very scary!!

How do you feel about the influence your credit score holds over a number of important aspects of your life (owning a car or home, ability to get loans or credit cards), and the fact that creating your credit score is a private industry proprietary formula that has little to no government oversight? Now THAT is truly scary.

WOW
Eri,
I watched the first 10 min. What ever group made this has an agenda.
How do I know this?
For an organisation that has the time, money, and energy to put something like this together and distribute it, they sure can't get some basic commonly know FACTS correct.
Total BS.
Scimitar
OK, I couldn't help my self...here comes the edit
These are all facts agreed upon by the majority of secular and religious historical scholars
1. Jesus was not born in Dec - absolute historic fact backed up by secular historic records
2. The only record of THREE wise men is in the navity story and following that, some xmas carols.
There is no record any where of how many wise men there where, the Chrstian Bible however does discuss 3 gifts.
3. Secular historical records also agree that these wise men visited that region when the boy Jesus was around 1.5 years old, not when he was a baby.
I learnt all this in a Secular, "History of the worlds religions" university course. The lecturer was trying to show how religions can still change over time.
There are a couple more that I can't be bothered going into.
This stuff pisses me off not cos it gets religious FACTS wrong, but becuase this dip stick can't be bothered reading an encylopedia!
If this jerk can't be bothered getting basic stuff right, I'm not going to bother listening to the rest of his drivel.

I'm not advocating aboloshing the Federal Reservse system, although one could argue that the creature has become large and powerful since it's inception on Jekyll Island. It now roams across every continent and compels the masses to serve it, feed it, obey it, and worship it. If one reads the book he or she should come away with several conclusions, being.
1. It is incapable of accomplishing it's stated objectives.
2. It is a cartel operating against the public interest.
3. It is the supreme instrument of usuary.
4. It generates our most unfair tax.
5. It encourages war.
6. It destablizes the economy.
7. It is an instrument of totalitarianism.
As for the movie, Zeigiest, the producers ahere to the "sky is falling" much like Al Gore tells us that is doing just that very thing. There are compelling moments, but I doubt that you and I will live to see a nuclear winter anytime soon.

Not only is the FICO formula secret, it comes from an industry that makes money by systematically abusing consumers and defying state and federal collections law!

Potential types of conspiracy-theorists and their motivations:
-The loser: There's a big conspiracy which has made me a victim, therefore I have an excuse for failing.
-The activist: There's a big conspiracy which may make you a victim, therefore you need to support my cause.
-The gatekeeper: I have special insight into a big conspiracy which may affect you, therefore what I say is important (and I'm important, too).
-The cult leader:
--to the losers: I am your best hope in fighting the conspiracy, therefore you should follow me.
--to the activists: I am the best figurehead for your cause, therefore you should follow me.
--to the gatekeeper: I will draw attention to your gatekeeper status, magnifying your importance, therefore you should follow me.
--to everybody else: You are part of the conspiracy, therefore I am (and my followers are) justified in taking any action against you deemed necessary.

The only "theory" I believe in is that our role in Global Warming is being "upplayed" inorder for big business to make more money off us

You know, a couple of years ago, you'd at least have one point (the US dollar being the world's currency). Maybe you haven't noticed, but the Euro is doing a real good job of taking over that spot. If the Fed keeps printing money, the Euro will overtake the dollar as the default world currency.
As for why the US Dollar was the default world currency for so long? That had to do with being the world's biggest economy and spending so much money overseas, not with the Federal Reserve.
Prior to the Federal Reserve, the US had the First Bank of the United States, the Second Bank of the United States, and then the Sub-tresury system. The sub-treasury system came into existence in order to curb the excesses of private ownership and control of the Banks of the United States (look up Nicholas Biddle) and for the government (as an agent of the people) to have some control over the economic decisions that affected the American people.
Many of the arguments made today regarding the Federal Reserve are the same arguments made about the Bank of the United States. Andy Jackson and Martin Van Buren made sure that the Bank of the United States did not have its charter renewed because of those arguments.
Oh, one more thing. We wouldn't have to carry gold around in our pockets if the gold standard was still in place. And the gold market is at least based on an actual physical material. The value of the dollar today is based on nothing, nothing at all. The massive inflation in just my lifetime is striking.
