MOH Awardee Charles P. Murray Jr., 89
Not SF related, but I thought the old man deserved the honor.
Charles P. Murray Jr., who received the Medal of Honor for single-handedly preventing 200 German soldiers from attacking an American battalion while leading a scouting mission in France during World War II, died Friday 8/12/11 at his home in Columbia, S.C. He was 89. Rest in peace Colonel.

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti amen.
In pace requiescat Sir. Dominus vobiscum.
Thank you for your service.
Sancte Michael Archangele, defende nos in proelio, contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium. Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur: tuque, Princeps militiae coelestis, Satanam aliosque spiritus malignos, qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo, divina virtute, in infernum detrude. Amen.

You ask; What is our policy? I will say; “It is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us: to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy.” You ask; What is our aim? I can answer with one word: Victory—victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival.-Winston Churchill
