Best Spam filter for Outlook Express?
I'm searching for the best spam filter for Outlook Express and soliciting ideas from everyone.
Cost is not an issue. It must work with Norton Internet Security.
Most of the research I've done refer to software that was the best in 2004, 2005 etc. I would like to purchase the best anti-spam software available today.

Jefe-
Norton Internet Security has a pretty robust anti-spam package built into it - isn't that working for you? Also, the latest security upgrade for Outlook/Outlook Express has another pretty good spam filter - together that ought to clear about 95%+ of the spam you're getting. SpamKiller is another good product.

While Norton is one of the best internet security packages on the market it's anti-spam software sucks, I've used it. Read about it on the internet, its rated very low on all anti-spam ratings.

My ISP has a webmail site that filters out almost all my SPAM. Because I am on dial up (is that a chuckle I hear out there  ) it also allows me to preview everything I am about to download so that I can filter out all that "cutesy" multi mega bite crap that people sort of like to send that normally would take me hours to download if I just hit the receive button on Outlook.

Things may have changed in the latest version, but I tried to set up effective spam filtering for Outlook Express for someone in the past and the best tools aren't compatible with it. It's not just a crippled version of Outlook, it's a completely different and fundamentally less capable application.
If you can upgrade to Outlook, Spambayes is outstanding. It works best from a standing start if you have folders full of ham and spam for training the filtering algorithms, but if you don't it will 'learn' from your manual assessments of spaminess as you go.
I very rarely get any spam in my inbox, and have not had an email improperly classified as spam in over 2 years. The longer you use it, the better it gets.
Note that a new class of spam that embeds binaries into messages carefully tailored to evade spam filters has exploded recently. The emails usually tout financial/investment info and are coming out of Russia.

The spam filter is pretty good in Outlook 2007. Next best thing is use an email service that lets you set up a white list.

I'm still running Outlook 2003 and I'm pretty happy with the filter. Unlike my Yahoo Mail account, which lets all kinds of crap through its "filter." But that's free so I guess I shouldn't complain.

I swear by any Trend Micro products. Their online virus check is one of the most useful tools on the net. I've never had a need for anti-spam, but I'd be pretty confident that their stuff works.
I hate Outlook/Outlook Express, but as has been said before, you might run into more compatibility issues if you're using Express...
