SANTA Report

Give it up.

What did you get?

Especially if it was weapons or speed related.

Santa left me a beautiful Nightforce NXS 3.5-15X with the NPR-2 reticle.

Thanks for the help, Wes at MSTN!

When I got the box, I said, "This is the biggest Toblerone bar I have ever seen." You have to have seen an NXS box to get the joke.

Hope that Santa was equally generous to all of you.

Merry Christmas all!

bottle of Jim Beam at the company Christmas party, along with a set of Old Fashioned glasses, provided by the other token Southerner in the office (seems she was provided an alleged Mint Julep made with Canadian whisky during the Kentucky Derby and wanted to make sure i would not commit such a fox paw...)

bottle of Balvenie Doublewood 12 year old Scotch from the guys in my department...

Elite Forces by Richard M. Bennett...the book appears to be an encyclopedic description of various special ops units throughout history and in various countries....

a book on the Donner Party, which give me pause regarding the upcoming holiday meal at the in-laws (Donner Pass is on the way there),

and some jin-you-wine German haus schuh...

good year for booze, but lacking in gun powder and accessories for motorcycles...

A new mid-length carbine upper and a TA31F (thanks for the tip SeanBaker) to go on top of it. Already tested the upper but I'll have to wait for the Trijicon. Seems they're behind on deliveries and it won't ship until tomorrow(?). Peregrino

Crazy Criminal:

Get the CCW and you don't have to wait, IIRC.

I've got to prove proficiency to get the CCW in Seminole county, according to the Sherriff here.

I've waited 20 years to get back into it. I can wait a few more days.

TS, couldn't find a USP 40 that I could afford. They are hard to come by around here.

The State of Florida accepts proof of military service in lieu or a course, IIRC.

At least they used to.

A few books, one of which I can't wait to start: Military Gadgets, How Advanced Technology is Transforming Today's Battlefield and Tomorrow's by Nicholas D. Evans

Earrings
Black and Decker mini food processor
Unique Christmas ornaments (the one thing I collect)
Cash
Free plane ticket to visit my brother in Seattle
An Operation Iraqi Freedom postcard from a friend in Baquabah! Wish I had a scanner, it's a very cool one.

Looks like a hunting safety course or DD214 will suffice:

"790.06 License to Carry Concealed Weapon or Firearm.

(h) Demonstrates competence with a firearm by any one of the following:

1. Completion of any hunter education or hunter safety course approved by the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission or a similar agency of another state;

2. Completion of any National Rifle Association firearms safety or training course;

3. Completion of any firearms safety or training course or class available to the general public offered by a law enforcement, junior college, college, or private or public institution or organization or firearms training school, utilizing instructors certified by the National Rifle Association, Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, or the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services;

4. Completion of any law enforcement firearms safety or training course or class offered for security guards, investigators, special deputies, or any division or subdivision of law enforcement or security enforcement;

5. Presents evidence of equivalent experience with a firearm through participation in organized shooting competition or military service;

6. Is licensed or has been licensed to carry a firearm in this state or a county or municipality of this state, unless such license has been revoked for cause; or

7. Completion of any firearms training or safety course or class conducted by a state-certified or National Rifle Association certified firearms instructor;

A photocopy of a certificate of completion of any of the courses or classes; or an affidavit from the instructor, school, club, organization, or group that conducted or taught said course or class attesting to the completion of the course or class by the applicant; or a copy of any document which shows completion of the course or class or evidences participation in firearms competition shall constitute evidence of qualification under this paragraph; any person who conducts a course pursuant to subparagraph 2., subparagraph 3., or subparagraph 7., or who, as an instructor, attests to the completion of such courses, must maintain records certifying that he or she observed the student safely handle and discharge the firearm; "

Get a copy of your DD 214 and get 'er done! Have fun.
