Fallen Heros bracelets

http://www.herobracelets.org/

They are selling them for $9 a piece and are donating $2 of each sale to The fallen heros fund.

Brew,

Do we know who makes these braclets?

2 dollars in the pot for a .05 cent piece of metal that cost 8 dollars??? Yes I understand what the engraving costs and still I have questions.

No, I do not know them personally as the link was passed along to me as well it was in the KC Paper today. I did read the site and I have an email in to the other site to check on the donations. He does breakdown on the site where the money is going though and they do seem like legit claims and the cost includes shipping as well. Here is a bit from the site.

Where does the money go?
First off, $2 from every bracelet goes directly to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, an organization that distributes 100% of that money to families of fallen service people. Every dollar they receive works to change a life and let a family know that there are others out there aware of the sacrifice made.

The rest of the $6.50 goes to the following:
Manufacturing the bracelets
Web site design/programming/maintenance
Web hosting
Software
Credit card charges
Processing fees
Shipping
Printing
Postage
Part time help (to cover what volunteers can’t do)
We have no full-time employees and nobody takes a salary to be involved in this. Much of the work has been performed by employees of The Ad Ranch in between client projects. Up to now, fulfillment has been done at the office or at home, during office hours or after dinner. With the numbers of orders coming in, we may need to get professional fulfillment help.

To than end, we would like to find a disabled veterans group that is currently doing direct mail fulfillment that has the capability to take this project over. Quite frankly, we don’t want to make money off the memories of these fallen heroes. We don’t want a father who just lost his only son to look at this and think someone is getting rich off his son’s name. But the project needs people and a lot of resources to happen. We can’t make this work entirely on volunteer work. Everyone we know needs to work for a living. So we don’t really know where to go with it. We’re open to suggestions; if you have an idea, email us at info@herobracelets.org.

Thank you very much for your email. I am happy to report that $2 for each bracelet sold is being donated to our organization, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Thank you for putting our link our boards and more importantly for supporting our organization. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Thank you again and Happy New Year!!!
