Fore Grip Preference

The "how do you carry it" thread has got me wondering what foregrip you prefer.

I personally have been trained to have my support hand close to the mag well (not on it) with elbows close to body.

I have seen others with vertical fore grips, and some that grip the weapon horizontally as far out as they can (not sure what this is called)

I have played with all of the styles and I am beginning to like having my support hand further out with my hand rotated toward the top slightly.

Just curious what was preferred, taught, or liked and why?

If this violates TTP security, please remove.

You need to use the Search button.

Look for vertical grips.

Lots to read.

I appologize for not making the thread clearer. I have read the posts on the equipment available for foregrips.

This thread was meant as poll to compare preferences on holding your weapon.

Hope this helps. Sorry for the confusion.

I usually use a rather high grip on the handguard as far out as is possible and using the vertical grip more as a hand support than an actual grip = good, stable control of the weapon.

Of course your particular weapon / accessory configuration and intended use might affect the type of grip on the weapon.
