Mr. Steinbrenner

As I watched the World Series this year I was almost positive we'd hear about George Steinbrenner(owner of the NY Yankees) having massive heart failure. I am a true Yankees fan at heart, but this is just comical. I wonder if he recognized any of these four starting in the World Series while he sat at home?

Well, the good news for him is that these four former Yankees only went a combined 54-33 on the season.

I don't think El Duque exactly set the world on fire this year.

Having been a Yankee fan since 1976 I doubt that the loss of three of those guys has cost him any sleep.

While Yankee fans love Pettite, George didn't for whatever reason. They made a lame half hearted attempt to keep him at the 12th hour but that had more to do with being able to tell fans that they really wanted him back when they clearly didn't. Jose was a soup sandwich during his Yankee days and George was the one who pushed the ejection button on him. El Duque had a history of injuries and under performance. The loss of Clements though clearly eats at George.
