HERE IS WHAT BROTHER AL WROTE AFTER HEARING SONG thank you all for your service IN LOVE TRUST AND HONOR your Brother and freind Mark

Great Song Mark. Thank You for your Patriotism and the thoughtfulness you give to the Troops, Past and Present. SSgt R Richmond was in fact a Green Beret with the 5th SF Group. We were on a mission to rescue several Berets from the NVA near Roc Gia, in the Mekong Delta. We had a escape route in case all hell broke loose in which it did, Ssgt Richmond manned a M-60 Machine gun and told us to back up to the escape route up the trail. We said no way, but he was stead fast and it was heavy. We quickly put out some claymores and made tracks up the trail. We could hear his 60 singing and we were waiting near a clearing for the Huey to extract us. the 60 stopped and we heard the claymores go off. The Huey landed and we have seconds to extract out of there, he never made it. We flew over the ambush area and we could see numerous NVA dead along with Ssgt Richmond. He was 27, and hailed from Baltimore and left behind his Wife and 3 Kids. A true hero..God Bless you Sarge
Thanks Again Mark
We Loved Your Song
Al
