Charlie Kirk Assassinated
Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was shot and died this afternoon at a rally in Utah.
RIP, Charlie.

I'm conservative and have no dislike for Charlie Kirk but this doesn't suprise me. He was always controversial and always out in front of a large crowd of people. That and considering the political climate of this society right now maybe he could have had better security. A ballistic shield maybe? Hope Ben Shapiro's security detail takes notes on this tragic incident.

I am terribly saddened by this, more so that my norm....I've watched many, many, Kirk vids of his debates on campus. He was brilliant and fair. Articulate and informed. A true free speech patriot.
I will miss his intellect and his mission greatly.
I am getting very tired of the violent left.

When truth speakers won't be muzzled by radicals stomping on their right to free speech, other means must be taken.
When governments allow the trampling of free speech of people they disagree with, radicals believe by any means necessary.
The campus police admit they didn't have the university secured. Their bungling around capturing the wrong guy turned attention to that spectacle allowing the shooter easier exfil.
There's so many possibilities on who could have done it - brainwashed student, antifags, trannies, gov't agents (of various countries)....

Its a shame that the left side of the political arena is so often willing to preach peace and tolerance while consistenly being the first ones to escalate to violence when they arent respected as the authority on national ideaology.
I hope the killer is caught quickly and then given all of the justice that he is due.
RIP to an innocent American that was not afraid to speak out in public in spite of the constant hatred and threats intended to silence him.
A little something to think about for assholes that pull this kind of shit.
They didn't silence Charlie Kirk. They martyred him.
Their blind hatred has taken a peaceful man that was steadfast in his willingness to TALK about problems, and enflamed a portion of the populace that will surely push harder and more determined that Charlie Kirk would have pushed on his own.

Very sad. Not only was Kirk a staunch believer in free speech, but extremely effective in harnessing its power. I had him pegged for possible VP material in 28.
The news says they are looking for a male. I’ll be surprised if the shooter identifies as such. While I disagree that the political violence is completely one sided, there does seem to be a subset on the left that has completely become unhinged.
I am also suspicious of the conversation going on at the exact time of the shooting. But that’s probably just my tin foil lid talking.

FBI says they recovered possible assassination rifle - imported Mauser 30.06.
My BS alerts are ringing - they say the rifle was wrapped in a towel, discarded in the woods where the shooter allegedly fled and has transgender and anti-fascist ideology written on the ammo.
Now, I suppose it's possible that the shooter took the shot, wrapped the rifle in a towel preserving forensic evidence, jumped off the roof, ran into the nearby woods and discarded it.

Surplus rifle bought with cash from a second or third party - big box store hunting ammo - paid for with cash - shooter wearing gloves when they loaded and fired...
...no finger prints no paper trail
Dump the evidence as soon as you can - and then beat feet to get the hell out of dodge - makes sense to me.
