We have some French coalition partners downrange with us. They stayed up late the night before making brownies for my ODA as D-Day anniversary gifts. Cool gesture by a group of Commandos who claim that American sacrifice on that day is still revered and appreciated where they come from.

During tHe one trip that I made to a more rural area of France that was my experience as well not specifically D-Day, but for the entirety of our contribution to WWI and WWII.

From me experiance Parisians give rural Frencemen a bad name....chalk and cheese.

The rural people are a delight. The Parisians not so much.
