The Driving Dead have returned! (snowbirds)
Ah the long anticipated return of the "Driving Dead" have indeed returned to the Valley of the Sun!
So follow me on this: In order to vacation here in the winter and North Dakota the rest of the year you must be doing well. Make more money than most. This makes sense when you see the Driving Dead talking and texting in their vehicles.
I kid you not, 70-80 year olds texting and talking on their cell phones while driving.
Saw a old fart the other day talking away like a teenager while driving. Old bastard (75) was doing about 25 in a 45 zone. I'm betting he had no clue why the cars were zooming past him.
We receive about one million of the Driving Dead every year. I need a video camera and a spotter and I could make some money on youtube!

Par for the course where I live. Every day, every night all year round. Here a driving license is a commodity to be bought and sold. That is for the few that even bother with that any more.

Have to agree, TS. Just came back from our house in Palm Springs.. Blue is the new blonde. Plus, it is more difficult to get a decent Tee-time...

The sad thing is...many of them already have the reaction time of a sloth...add in the fact that they are paying attention to their driving...it will be non-existent.
Not a good thing at all!

I'm in Phoenix every other week transferring new commercial trucks between dealers in the Los Angeles area and the dealers there.
Trust me, I see everything from up there.
Quartzite is starting to fill up too. Heard it has the largest swap meet by acre of any other city in the U.S.

The Quartzite thing started out as a little rock and gem show. Now it is like Bangkok's Sunday Market...

Quartzite a reality show waiting to happen
Quartzite, have stopped there a few times to gas up. Very very strange people.
(I don't stop there at night..... too scary.)

Quartzite and desert towns like it are places of last resort, where people with borderline personality disorders go because they can't live and get along with reasonably normal people...

The Alberta plates have been dominant here for the past 2-3 months... Motor Homes hauling cars, 5th wheels in convoy with 3 pickups hauling cars... cars packed to the gills.... and all clueless to the 80mph speed limits on the highways, they're doing 80kph.... on the snowy days, it's incredibly horrible...
I think 2/3 of Alberta leaves Canada starting in September... I'm guessing May- June will be the return migration time.

Next time, be sure to check out the book store. Well, just Google it and check the "images".
