10th SFGA NCO Wins Armywide Best Warrior Competition

Kudos to SFC Carpenter, an 18C in the 10th SFGA.

Richard

Fort Carson Soldier Is Top Sergeant At Army's Best Warrior Competition
S&S, 11 Oct 2014

A Fort Carson Green Beret has been named the Army's best sergeant after a weeklong event at Fort Lee, Va.

Sgt. 1st Class Matthew Carpenter with the 10th Special Forces Group was one of three Fort Carson soldiers in the Armywide Best Warrior competition.

"I wanted to show the Army what makes my unit work so well," Carpenter said in a telephone interview. His victory was announced in a Friday news release.

Good job!

I

Matt is an 18F now. He's the worst pistol shooter I've ever seen, but the best teammate I've ever had. He's an outstanding SF soldier. Now he just wants to be left alone so he can go down range with our team. Couldn't ask for a better friend. He's very deserving of this honor.

Well give him our best and tell him the 'old guys' are proud of his efforts.

For those that may not have noticed it, "I wanted to show the Army what makes my unit work so well"
SFC Carpeneter didn't poke out his chest like he could ave, he gave kudo's to his UNIT.
...his UNIT.

To all of you lurkers that wonder what real SF is about; this is the essence of a real "team guy." Hiss humility brightened my day.
Thank you for your contribution to the reputation of the entire Special Forces Regiment SFC Carpenter; you've brought a great honor to us all.
