In that article, the first snake looks like a diamondback even though it's greenish. We've seen no 'rattlers on our property this season and only 2 within a 1/4 mile. We have seen an increase of gopher, garter, Western patch nose snakes. I've never seen a Mojave but my wife may have killed one last year. Identity not confirmed, though.

I just picked up a book called "Legacy of Jihad" by Andrew Bostem. I'm not saying they are all bad but it certainly puts things in the perspective that just because the U.S. is done with them doesn't mean they are done with us.
