Beaver kills man
I didn't know exactly where to put this. Either in the "Fur" thread, "Early Bird", "Gourmet Gorilla", "Medical Pearls of Wisdom" .... there's just too many to choose from for this one.
It's either Karma or Darwin taking place here ....

Beaver attacks, kills fisherman in Belarus
OSTROMECHEVO, Belarus — A fisherman in Belarus was killed after a beaver attacked the 60-year-old man while he was trying to take a picture with the rodent.
The Associated Press reports that the man was driving with friends to Shestakovskoye lake, which is west of the capital, Minsk, when they spotted the beaver on the side of the road.
When the man pulled over and tried to get a picture with the beaver, the animal bit him and hit a major artery in his leg, causing him to bleed to death.
The man’s friends were unable to stop the bleeding, and he was pronounced dead a short time later at a clinic in Ostromechevo.
“The character of the wound was totally shocking for us medical professionals,” said doctor Leonty Sulim. “We had never run into anything like this before.”
The man is the only person to die from a beaver attack in Belarus.

I was thinking the same thing when I read the news article.

"trying to take a picture with the rodent."
Glad he cleared this up. Dying by the beaver I was thinking of would not be the worst way to go.

Some people actually eat those things.
If their bite is strong enough to take down a small tree they could certianly do a number on someones leg.

I've never run into any real biters, but I have had to caution a few.
