Happy Birthday to my funny son, Greyshade!

Greyshade...I hope you had a kick ass birthday over there in Astan, I know this forum is called the comedy zone . My son loves his humor and I don't know how else to send him a great big birthday shout out so I hope he looks at this. I miss you son. I' m proud of you and being on an A Team over there now probably isn't how you would ever have expected to be as you turn 28 . All I have to say son is this: you are funny one, but like I always say, looks aren't everything! You now how much your dad and I love you - in spite of the way you looked, and I still am loving you and I know how proud , in a serious way, your dad must be now that he is riding on your shoulder as your guardian angel.
You stay safe son.

May your son stay safe on his deployment, and have a kick ass celebration when he returns home.

Greyshade : another "birthday joke" from greyshade 2

Three legged cat goes into a bar, suddenly silence takes over the previous typical drunken bar room atmosphere.
The Cat pulls up a bar stool and the barman collects his courage and makes his way down the long bar, nervously eyeing the hardware this baddass, three legged cat is sporting and as the barroom clears out, the barman asked the Cat "what'll it be?",
The three legged cat looks the barman over with his one good eye, pauses and says, " I am looking for someone and I want him bad. Have you seen the guy that shot my paw?"

There is a long family history of starting out at a young age telling (trying to imitate dad) jokes and my family, having heard the same jokes, over & over never quite getting the words or the timing right
our youngest, well we started assigning numbers to jokes so when the joking and storytelling started, our youngest could say something like...hey, number 6...and we laughed. Now this young man is a quiet professional, out there carrying on in the place his pop use to cover. Not so funny knowing this brave young man lost his dad, his best friend while in the pipeline and it must be hard doing the mission sometimes when just knowing his dad was here, at home no matter where my son finds himself has changed profoundly. I know his dad is somewhere over there watching over him.
This is his 1st deployment without knowing dad was as near as a phone call and the 1st b-day his momma couldn't send him a card or gift or get a call so, son, if you get this remember, I know the finest men in the world are with you there and you are damn good at what you do. I pray you and your team are safe and staying warm and have plenty of ammo. Hugs.

Happy Birthday to my funny son

Thank you, LMC, now that you mention it, people have always said my boy kind of favors his mam. Much as I hate to give myself compliments I will accept one from you...and as I said, looks aren't everything! Ha...thanks.

GS2 - if your son was a member of this BB, you could have just sent him a PM (Personal Message) using that function here. Try it next time.
