Humorous article on the new Navy uniforms.
http://www.duffelblog.com/2012/08/na...s-lost-at-sea/
Looks like they got a real good idea over there with this one!

Over where?
You think my uniform is a joke non qual?
Edited because for the first time on this board I'm angry: from a man who has lost Shipmates at sea, come up here, find Jim's and ask for Sam. I'll be happy to recalibrate you.
Sorry QPs. The net is yours.

The duffleblog site is a joke/fake news site.
They write funny articles base on stupid military topics. EG: USN Camo
Temper your rant with smile..
Remember your lost shipmates with fondness.
It will help your BP
Thank you for your service..

Like JJ said, it's a comedy site that posts satirical articles mocking "weird" subjects. I meant no offense to you or your comrade.

As a recently retired Sailor whom had to wear the NWU, I can say confidently that I hated the choice of the blue camo. It is an idiotic choice that cost millions to develop and is unnecessary. Much like the ACU was a reaction to the Marine Corps digital pattern, it was meant to be distinctive. It comes across as more of a caricature.
I, and many others, have made the joke that the uniform camoflages you in the water if you fall overboard.

That being said
"They can't do that to our pledges, only WE can do that to our pledges!"
They are stoopid, but I think if you're going to poke fun at a uniform, you should have, at a minimum, worn one at some point. Ugly, dumb, or not, Sailors still stretch them on every moring with pride.
They do hide that famous Standard Issue Navy Ass much better than coveralls (which BTW are just as hard to see when the Boat-O ends up in the water).

You funny GI.
It is a well know fact that a well trained crew can assume the prone position on the deck of any ship rendering it totally invisible in less time then it takes a cabinboy to ... Well... Pretty dang fast.

Lighten up, Francis.
It's the Comedy Zone.
And this isn't your board.
