Ban on Concealed Weapons- Tampa/RNC

I am interested in hearing other's views on this topic.

Basically Tampa (FL) City Commission wants Gov. Scott to impose a 'special events' ban on concealed weapons during the Republican National Convention.

I don't agree with changing the law for this event (or most circumstance) and can't even imagine a shoot out in the streets outside of the RNC.
Although who knows what the code pink crowd is up to...

See article- http://www.tampabay.com/news/localgo...de-rnc/1227001

I read this earlier in the week. I look at it as just another attempt to chip away at the law bit by bit.

Mayor Bob Buckhorn should STFU about any counter-measures that might be taken. SS will have that and he hasn't even seen someone come in & exercise external authority over his burg until they do.*

Of course, the Trayvon Martin issue has relevance to the security of a Presidential nominee.

* unless they're cavorting at the nearest aparta hotel...

Evidence they will need to revise their expectations.

“Like you, I share the concerns that ‘violent anti-government protests or other civil unrest’ can pose dangers,” Scott wrote in his two-page response. “But it is unclear how disarming law-abiding citizens would better protect them from the dangers and threats posed by those who would flout the law.
Apparently Gov. Scott fired that response back the same day as receiving the request so he, apparently, knows horsehockey when he sees it.
