Rubber Chicken Flies into Solar Radiation Storm

Rubber Chicken Flies into Solar Radiation Storm

What are your High School kids doing in the Science Area? Pretty interesting story - more than the title would lead you to believe.

http://science.nasa.gov/science-news...19apr_camilla/

"Last month, when the sun unleashed the most intense radiation storm since 2003, peppering satellites with charged particles and igniting strong auroras around both poles, a group of high school students in Bishop, California, knew just what to do.

They launched a rubber chicken................."

Of the video clips I liked Chaos.

On behalf of the M.O.D. I should like to protest, in the strongest language possible, the naming of the latex fowl in question after HRH Prince Charles' significant other, the Duchess of Cornwall (physical similarities notwithstanding).

I have asked my contacts in the Royal Family to file an official complaint with the The White House, the California Board of Education, NASA, and the National Chicken Council.

And may I add Sir,..... Haruumph!

Sincerely,
Brig. Sir Arthur Conman Doyle IV (ret)

Good for them! I guess there is more to do in Bishop than hunt, fish and eat Sheepherder's bread from Schat's Bakery...

Hunt, fish and drink beer. Bishop is a pretty place by the way.

Launching rubber chickens into space? Only in California.

I dare my boys to say "We're bored. There's nothing to do."
