Boots used in SFAS

Hello all

I am currently training with my black all leather (previous basic issue) boots and black leather jungle boots when going on ruck marches. I understand that the army is now issuing the new tan desert combat boots. Is this the boot that will be required for SFAS?
If so, do these boots impact one's feet any differently than the leather boots?

Any advice would be appreciated

Thank you and godbless

In the current New England Journal Medicine a study was published on the effects of a newb asking a question that at it's core doesn't matter. The study concluded that overthinking combined with not searching a forum correlates with a deflation of the subject's self-esteem, increase of SA, redirection to the stickies, and the discovery of the search button.

BTW, to cut your next question off...."NO" as prior service you can not enter the service with an 18x contract. You either enlist and wait until you are allowed by your unit to apply to SFAS or you enter thru the NG.

Actually

Thank you for the response

I did search all forums and was unable to locate any information about the required use of the newly issued boots for SFAS. This information my seem quite inconsequential to you, however I do believe that it is important to me; I have had much different fit/wear from the previous generation desert combat boot with the all leather boot and do beleive that I should train with the standard.

Also FYI, it is possible to obtain an 18x contract being PS. Not only have numerous PS individuals state that they obtained an 18x contract (check armyranger.com, My career counselor informed me of the same.

Kain,

go practice your searching skills some more. I found the information you wanted in about three different posted topics. Oh and you might want to "get small" I think I hear incoming...

good luck.

Not to piss on your parade but, I know of 4 PS guys currently in the Q course who came back into the Army with an 18X contract. There is also an 18E here on the board who is the product of a PS 18X contract.

Kain:

If it was offered by a career counselor at MEPS then put your name on the dotted line before they change their minds.

Unless you are SF or in the SF pipeline stop answering questions concerning SFAS or anything concerning active duty Special Forces. You will not be told twice.

Kain:

You are either extremely lazy, or exceptionally bad with searches.

Search for SFAS issue boots. I believe that you will be busy reading for a while. Here is what I found in less than 10 seconds, the most recent response was less than six weeks ago with almost exactly the same title as this post.

Boots used in SFAS

Boots for Training AND SFAS

Feet - You Can't Get Anywhere Without Them! ( 1 2 3)

Studs ( 1 2 3 4 5 ... Last Page)

Belleville vs. Wellco ( 1 2 3)

Getting in shape for Selection ( 1 2 3 4 5 ... Last Page)

footwear

Selected!

Wellco Tuffcushions and SFAS

Boots

Read the all of those as well as anything else you can find here about boots and get back to me when you are done.

Post no further till you have.

The fact that people still do not understand what the word "Issue" means leave me with low hopes for our future as a fighting force. I will have to pray that these people are weeded out during SOPC and SFAS. Now when I think of "Issue" gear, I see in my mind, the guy at the CIF or unit supply room pushing an item across the counter to me and asking me to sign for it. If I lose it, use it up, or want a spare, I DX it or go to a source and find THE EXACT SAME THING and buy it. If it is also on the approved packing list, I bring it. Not one similar, not one made in Korea, not what Hiking magazine recommends, not what a buddy heard from his girlfriend's uncle's cousin, twice removed, who saw a movie about SF.

You people are killing me.

Your effing killing me here. I love this site from time to time.

Kain,
I too am looking forward to beginning my SF training and trying my damnedest to earn my "long tab" I started off by learning not to argue or talk "ish" to the guys that have completed it. I look up to them. Furthermore, you shouldn't be worried about the 18x issue. If your good and gonna make it, then your good and your gonna make it.

Good luck.

If this is the champion stuff you plan on impressing the SFAS cadre with just save them the effort of weeding you out by not applying.
