http://news.yahoo.com/obama-adminstr...-abc-news.html
Did he ever play Defensive Back? He sure can back backpedal.
Thanks

Frankly I think this time I agree with CIA Dir's assessment (to the rescue in front of Congress, nice touch); a typically over-analyzed comment. No one ever seems to take the government of "Today we're commited, tomorrow we're leaving" France to task very much over such things. Boohoo.
The list of stuff the media should focus on with the current admin is a long one, but this ain't on it in my opinion.

Very well sir, and indeed there is a long list of things that the media should focus on.
One reason I feel like this assessment should be scrutinzed... election time. Your average voter "per se" doesn't understand what entails "advise and assist", peopleare told "the end of combat operations" and to many they just hear "THE END".
If the administation has officials that go into detail about current classified missions (UBL, HR, ETC) than I feel, IMHO, than talk of transition in this war should be looked at carefully.
Respectfully,
Tweeder

And there you go. Logical motive & probably what drives their hormones right now anyway.
They can deny it or deflect it at a press conference, but as it transpired it also looks like a bunch of Asst Deputies had a meeting, wondered how it would "play", and seeing someone in a travel status headed to engage NATO, decided "Let's have Leon float it... if it bombs we can always walk it back..."
Not unheard of at all.

I remember one day in Iraq, everyone was told that they were no longer "combat brigades", they were from now on to be "advise and assist" brigades.
Neat.

Oh brudder. I wonder what the revised slide looked like when someone tossed their Mission Statement up on the wall...
