Motorola DROID RAZR 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)
Looking at buying a new Cell.. Looking at the Motorola DROID RAZR 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless). But the hell with paying $700.00. I saw on Amazon that they sell this Cell.
http://wireless.amazon.com/dp/B0061O...SIN=B0061OQJTK
Looking to see if anyone has purchased a cell through Amazon and taking it to Verizon store to get it activated.
I figure there will be a service fee by the store, but any other issues??
Anyone have a DROID RAZR on Verizon? Pro and Cons, outside of battery life??

Hey there, i currently work with verizon in alabama. The droid razr does feature gorilla glass and kevlar threading to support the thin feature of the phone. I havent heard of any problems from the razr I use the bionic (I do have many software issues with the bionic). I do suggest waiting until the 26th for the Razr Maxx which is suppose to have a 21 hour battery life. Depending on where you get the phone will determine any fees.
Is it an upgrade? Because you can buy the phone for about 199 if you find the right person.

MG,
Curious as to why you're looking at a Droid vice iPhone?

Make sure which ever one you buy is unlocked or for verizon. Some companies sell their phones with company unique mods so check that out.

I would check this out...
I would check out the Droid Bionic by Motorola,
The people at Verizon told me it's essentially the same phone, 4G and all. With an upgade this phone should be $199.00, I negotiated my girlfriends phone to $165.00.
My brother also has one and he loves it, the only problem is the Guerilla glass isn't as tough as advertised, I would advise getting protector case.

Good luck,
Tweeder

I have the Razr with Verizon, but I got it from them. Great phone, basically a small laptop. Battery life isn't bad at all. There are a lot of settings that influence your battery life. I get three days between charges on mine. Two "must have " apps are "Advanced task killer" and "Smart actions", that greatly affect battery life by controlling which programs run during what time periods. I also recommend "Where's my Droid", to find your phone whenever you otherwise can't. (FOG)
I can PM you with more, if you like, but those three are so sweet (and free), I figured they may be suitable for "general consumption".

I'm Military I don't think I ever keep a service plan active long enough. I'm always deployed, so I never get a upgrade. Been with Verizon since 2004 and I think I have had a $100.00 upgrade twice. I like the Razr and love my Droid I currently have, so looking for a new new since I like to break my glass. But the $700.00 for non upgrade is a bitch. What is the Razr Maxx going to run??
So you hook a brother up then??

SF_BHT ... Yeah I know about that.. That's what keeps you with them and using other company phones. I do like AT&T and their SIM cards. Makes it easier to change out overseas on some phones.

plato...... No issues with your task killer. I've read there are some issues with them crashing phone OS. No issues? THX for the Apps too.

I upgraded my Razor to a Bionic and WOW what a difference. No problems so far, (4 months now) especially since the latest software update. With the latest software update I can go almost 2 days between charges. One thing that helps by the way is to turn on Wifi as it drains less battery than standing by without a Wifi connection.

There isnt a set price as I've been told. But if its the same dealer price as the original i think its $589.99 plus tax. If you walk into a store or website they add anywhere from $100 to $150 for commission. I can prob save you around 100-150 bucks on it.

After tax here it would be $666.60. Dealer price is 606. I can throw in a free otter box for you if ya want due to your job.
Sorry for the double post.
