German boy calls police when asked to help clean house

AACHEN, Germany -- An 11-year-old boy who was asked to help clean the house instead dialed the police emergency number Monday and reported he was being made to do "forced labor," AFP reported.

The boy from Aachen, located in western Germany, told the police his mother "made him work all day," a police official said. He also complained he had no free time.

The mother told officers her son had protested after being asked to help around the house and repeatedly threatened to call the authorities, AFP said.

When she asked him to pick up paper on the floor, this time he dialed the police emergency number.

"He plays all day long and when told to tidy up what he's done, he calls it forced labor," police quoted his mother as saying.

Neither the mother nor the son were identified.

I think I threatened to call CPS on my parents a few times for having to clean my room, I realized my mom meant business when everything that was on the floor was in a contractor bag at the curb.

My oldest daughter tried this once when she was about 15. I wore her tail out and gave her the phone, then went and waited by the front door. The officers told her she needed to do as I told her to.
