Need .22 LR for Boy Scouts range

Hello all,

Great place to ask.

I am one of many Scout Masters going to this years Jamboree, and I am running a range at our next shake down at Broad-Creak, a camp here in Maryland.

we need 4000 rounds of .22 LR. Can't find it here, it goes fast or/and there is a back order of like 4 months for it.

Can any one, provide a good POC for some, or even donate some.

we need it in a few it in the next two weeks.

BTW the summer camp needs to find 200,000 rounds of .22LR.

Yours in Scouting,
SM AL

Al,
I have a brick of UNOBTAINIUM (CCI SV) for you. Let me know when you will be there, I will either drop in person or leave it at administration.

Wow. Nice hookup.

I have been hunting CCI LR since Dec.My local stores tell me that it should be back in regular stock by May 2013. I hope so. My 14 y/o has been driving me crazy.

It's seen locally, but I won't pay the inflated rate.
Some folks have had luck with Champion Shooters Sports, although they claim on line they are sold out.

For the 200k order someone from Bechtel is going to have to throw some corporate weight around, I bet Winchester would love to provide some sponsorship, or perhaps the folks from England could bring some Tenex!

The best bet would be to switch over to a Black Powder event like Philmont does until the ammo insanity is over.

.22LR (in stock for shipment) is running around .33 cents per round right now, or about ten times what it was three months ago.

If you can find it.

Local Dicks Sporting Goods has Federal 510 for 10.99 for a box of 50, I can't make myself pay that, this too will pass. I started shooting rinfire during the last bout of insanity, Sporting Clays is even looking attractive now.

Using 300 rounds a week for 6 students for basic pistol cost me $54 a brick of 500 rounds of cci. That is with zero extra for students needing a few rounds for additional training.

We had 3 bricks come into the gun store last week, they sold out in 4 minutes.

Considering using pellet pistols to get students a mastery of fundamentals before using .22lr.

Then again, pellets are hard to find also.

Western, NY.

I've had the same problem finding .22lr for my son's competitions. His rifle will only take .22lr, but his pistols work fine with .22 shorts. If any of the firearms you're using will accept .22 shorts Grafs has milsurp .22 short match going for 3.99 per 50 box. Shipping is reasonable at 6.95 unlimited quantity.

Al, I just sent 2k rounds of 22LR to a friend of mine in Maryland. You are the scoutmaster for his son.

I have 300 rounds of .22lr that I could part with for the cause. I have family around the BWI area, so I could drop 'em off on a weekend.
