Anderson Cooper Gets Punched 10 Times
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/new...ob-egypt-95628
lol:
Anderson Cooper was attacked in Egypt Wednesday.
CNN producer Steve Brusk Tweeted, "Anderson said he was punched 10 times in the head as pro-Mubarak mob surrounded him and his crew trying to cover demonstration."
Cooper then escaped to the roof of a nearby building, where he said on air: "We were in a crowd and we were just set upon."
Cooper told CNN's live blog that the attackers "pushed and shoved the CNN crew and punched them in the head... but no one was seriously hurt."
Added Brusk on Twitter, "Live images now of crowds on opposite side of trucks throwing rocks. A CNN reporter called earlier scene snowball fight with rocks."
CNN's Ben Wedeman told the blog that "he overheard a panicked army officer say the situation was out of control and there was nothing the army could do to restore order."
Copper landed in the country Sunday night to cover the protests againt President Hosni Mubarak, who has been in power for 30 years.
"It's a fast-changing situation," he told The Huffington Post Monday. "It feels like it changes every few hours."
On Monday, Christiane Amanpour called The Hollywood Reporter from Cairo, where she had been reporting since Saturday.
"We had no idea what to expect,” she said. “But it is always more scary from the outside than it is from the inside.”
The journey from the Cairo International Airport to her hotel took over an hour because "every 50 to 100 yards our car was stopped and there were people with machetes, meat cleavers, swords, rifles, metal bars,” she said. “Once they saw [who we were], they waved us through. I would describe the journey as tense but friendly.”

I swear that every time she opens her mouth in a place where there is a lot of tension and controversy to "get a dialogue and understanding" between the opposing groups, either one party attacks or threatens the other, or both parties wind up at each others' throats. Is it just me or does she celebrate fanning the flames?

Yes. They all do.
They want Pulitzers in Utopia, and they don't care how they get there.

The overprivileged Vanderbilt does have a rather large schnoz. I could see where it would make an attractive target to an angry person.

What I'd like to know is, how does he know he was "....punched in the head 10 times" ????
Did he sit there and count EVERY blow ???
You'd think he might have done something, say after the 1st or 2nd punch.
Like leave ......

I saw the Yemen president is leaving. I hope that entire region turns over to the Muslims. So they can return it to the 3rd Century where it belongs.

ESPN's SportsCenter will provide a blow by blow breakdown of the punch out with expert commentary...tonight, right after bowling.
Yeah, Cooper's an asshat, CNN is just a service I flip through on the way to C-SPAN2, and I'd rather have a sister in a whorehouse than a brother who makes his living as a broadcast journalist. But still--it is not a good sign that demonstrators in Egypt are attacking journalists. Coupled with the government shutting down cellular service and internet access, this latest development bodes ill for rank and file Egyptians who want a competent government.
