Politcal correctness/slime line

Just where are we?

Over the past several years, and last few months in particular, we have to ask, " what is political correnctess"?

There were always things in public we avoided saying , phrased with thought, and issues skirted to not offend in public; or so we thought. Religion, race, sex, etc, etc,; we really thought about before pressing on.

It seems clear that every governmental office has violated "political correctness". From city to every national office, politicians are incorrect across the board. Political incorecctness is crossing party lines. Take your pick; elected and trusted City Mayors, Lt. Govs, Govs, US Senate and House members, and a President. Current Democratic Presidental contenders are clearly caught up in embelishment ( if not clearly lying ), racial targeting, gender targeting, religious targeting, age targeting, name calling, etc, etc. These are folks aspiring to the highest elected office in our nation. Think of the image to the rest of the world. Think of the message to our children!

As our politicians, running for presidential office, lower the political correncness bar, they raise the slime bar for all to see. Our children are watching and will respond.

It would be nice to find a way to get a handle on the slime line before we hand it off to our children.

I blame it on MTV.

Honestly, it's more a sign of the times than anything. With so many sources and outlets glamorizing violence, crime, rudeness, disrespect and the like, it's difficult not to immerse or culture yourself like that; unless of course, you are able to determine between right and wrong - good and bad.

You could just imagine a youngster that looks to his left and right, and sees it from his friends, sees it on the TV...they don't know anybetter.

I'm not really surprised anymore when I hear or read of a high-tier official that has slandered someone inappropriately, or is banging pro's with an "outside" source of income, or when the mass media is more focused on a pop-star than what is important in this world.

Being PC covers more ground than anyone could probably type whilst sitting comfortably.

Red Flag, the points you covered are probably vast considering your background and experience. In my twenty-four years I've witnessed what I would call an evolution and a de-evolution of society at large.
