Challenge Coins available for trade

Everyone,

I have been a long time collector of SF, SO, SW, SOCOM, etc.. challenge coins. The majority of my personal collection is in this area. Over the years I've ended up with a number of duplicates of coins which I already have. I thought some of the folks here may be interested in some of these coins as there are some which are relevant to the subject matter of this forum, as well as some RA and other DOD units. I'd prefer to trade these for coins which I don't currently have in my collection. I also wanted to give the folks here a chance to pick them up before I put them up on an auction site.

Here's a link to photos of the available coins: http://s624.photobucket.com/albums/t...des/?start=all

If interested please shoot me a PM or email.

Wow! I've seen some military coin collections, but that's by far the most impressive.

Thanks! Those coins are available if you'd like to do some trading. I haven't taken pictures of my personal collection and thrown them up yet. I do intend to do so in the near future.

The battle axe is nice, but this is my personal favorite:

The only one I have that matters is one I earned (back when that was one of the two ways you got them) and still carry every day.

I must be missing something. Collecting coins from leg units and units I never served in does not appeal to me.

Remember before the rest of the military got them and they were just called "group coins".

I alternate between my 7th Gp coin and my 5th. I never leave home without it. You never can tell when you might run into someone and you're thirsty.

Agreed ... I carry the ones I earned, and one of them is THE one I earned. I have a few, presented from others, but they aren't carry coins, they're my look what I got from XXXX - one of the most honored one of those is a MOH coin.

Still carry mine after all these years. Like a good luck charm now. I only feel obligated to buy if someone pulls a Group or Ranger coin. If they are AD I buy regardless of who should.

Sat next to an officer on a plane with a tab about two years ago who told me no more group coins due to opsec. Mind you he was on a plane in his dress greens. Typical hypocrisy.

I call BS. Probably didn't want to open his wallet.

Any truth to this?

That's BS. Not that many active guys carry the coins anymore, but they still get handed out - especially for deployments, not just group but also battalion as well as some companies and teams have their own. Obviously if you're doing secret squirrel and black ninja stuff, you don't want to have a coin on you.. but I think in this case, you're right.
