Ciener .22 conversion/ 1911 .45
Just got my hands on this little addition.
First impressions are that it seems to fit nicely to the frame. Mags fit and locked into place with no trouble. I’m gonna go shoot it tomorrow and smile all the way back to the house thinking about how I just saved $80 in ammo by shooting with .22 while still being able to practice with my current ccw holster, trigger and frame of my actual CCW. Assuming this works as advertised, it will become a permanent addition to my training sessions.

The Ciener Conversion kits are great.
I have several for my M-4s. You can shoot into .22LR bullet traps.
The company itself has a bunch of jerks working there and is very hard to deal with. It is a shame.

Ciener is probably the bottom of the barrel for rimfire conversions. Advantage Arms makes a good one for Glocks, and for any 1911-style pistol, Marvel Precision is where you want to send your money: http://www.marvelprecision.com/

As I recall Kimber makes a good conversion kit as well.

I have one too! (*Kart) Mine is pretty old, I bought it in the 70's. I haven't used it all that much, but I thought it was better then the Colt .22 conversion kit.
*Correction: Actually my conversion kit is the Kart kit w/target sights. Reading TR's post jarred my memory. I haven't even looked at the kit for a long time! 
What problems have you had with yours?

Consistant ( From 1 in 7rnds to 1 in 10rnds) failure to feed due to a very steep feed ramp that causes case rupture...so bad that the bullet will partially detach from the caseing.
Failure to extract; about 1 in 15 rounds. Which will cause double feeds like its cool.
I'm the second guy I know of to have this problem with the Kimber conversion kit.
I would recommend the Ciener over the Kimber conversion kit.

I didn't get to go shoot it Sunday. However, my father-in-law did. His current CCW is a Colt Gunsite pistol. He reported zero failures and that the point of impact was dead on from the factory. He loved it.

Let your father in law know I will take that POS Colt Gunsite Pistol off his hands for $150.00 no more. I normally wouldn't offer so much but, well I feel obligated to help the guy out and take that horrible pistol off his hands.

The Marvels are the best on the market, but even they wear out after 25+k rds. They do stand behind their product 100%, but expect to start getting a phone call after the third or forth time you send one back with a peened and/or pitted breechface. A friend is full time range staff for a major PD and he fires 250-500rds 5 days per week. 22LR is the only way to shoot and still feed the kids. Accuracy is outstanding, just has some durability issues for extended use, which every other kit has, AFAIK. Often, much worse. If someone were to fit a steel breechface, perhaps threaded and interchangable like on a 1911 racegun I saw somewhere, that may be a potential solution. I'm not sure if this is economically viable for the limited number of shooters who fire this amount of ammo. S/F....Ken M
Addendum: Evidently, the new Marvels have a steel breech insert, so that should fix that issue.

Has anyone dealt with Ciener recently? How long is their backlog?
I ordered a Beretta conversion kit several months ago. The check was cashed, but other than that I have received neither kit or acknowledgment.
When I ordered, they quoted a "normal" turnaround time but warned that due to "UN-PRESIDENTED" [sic] demand, they could not guarantee how long I would have to wait. I allowed much more time than I would normally, went to their website for contact information to follow up, and found this little gem.
