In the first 3 minutes of the speech..."Islam is a religion of peace".

Why does he feel the need to push his agenda so hard, every chance he gets?!? I knew, I KNEW,he was going to F up in the first 5 minutes,he suprised me by mentioning Islam and how it is a peaceful religion in the first THREE minutes! Did he notice,or care, who he was speaking to?!?

This guy has to go.

Its not the message;it is the messenger

You are 100% Utah Bob,but I goess it is a little different coming from a Christian President trying to calm everyone, than from a Muslim president trying to indoctinate and desensatize someone.

Kinda like if I say Ni**er,and a black guy says it amonst his "homies". It has to do with who delives the words and what implied intent is.

A Christian President trying to peddle Islam as a gentle religion after a National tragedy on par with Pearl Harbor, the likes of which America had never seen, and trying to prevent backlash against Muslims living in America, is Different,in my eyes at least, than a Man who IS a Muslim, then isnt, then is,who obvious hidden agenda, and who would,I feel,in time, soft peddle Islam as the easiest way to have world peace and have attacks on America stop,if we just institute Sharia law, bacause the silly ol' constitution,Preamble ect is just ancient,out-of-date,out-of-touch old radicals who even had slaves, and played with a key on a string to a kite.

Maybe I have my perception wrong, and if I do,I will be the first one to apologize to all here, but I stand by my assessment, especially after reading some of the things Warrior-Mentor turned me on to,and stuff I found thru my own research.

Every single Military member here has sworn allegiance to....
and
Every single military member here has sacrificed for...

Islam? Sharia Law?

I didnt. I wouldnt. Maybe I am overly paranoid. maybe I am overly into conspiracy theories and shadowy figures. I dont think so tho,I think the threat is real. I think Obie is just going to keep pushing the "Islam is great". Islam is Peace" and slowly, most sheeple will just accept it. Most american Sheeple will go along with anything so long as it doesnt disrupt their daily routine much,or affect their wait in line for a lardburger. It is gradual. Obie isnr dumb;he knows he cant push Islam like a hard sell,it has to be slow and gradual.

That way, no one bucks too hard, and daily life isnt disrupted, and prayers 5 times a day seems normal ect ect ect.

Your choice of simile is...interesting if not also instructive.

What would happen if the President came out and said that Islam was a religion of violence, and that it as a whole is an evil entity?

What good do you see coming from that situation?

Do you think Iran would use that against us to bring allies to its side?

Would Pakistan be as cooperative with us in the war on terror?

Think before you speak. The President did. If you must lie, may as well lie with a smile. There is a reason we aren't working in the White House.

My two cents.

Why does Islam have to be mantioned at all? There was no real need to mention that,in that context,at that time.

I believe everyone has a good idea we are fighting against AQ and Taliban.

The mention of Islam, and his ringing endorsement of it served no purpose, except to once again, chip away at the stone.

Muslims already know his position. He has been there (Middle East).Spoke...I mean coddled them. I believe THEY know quite well, his position.

To just once more, shove it down everyone ELSES throats was/is just "desensatization" as I see it.

I can see where you are coming from tho,and appreciate your position. But, I believe there is more to it,as with everything he does.

Sometimes, insecure people keep repeating things to you to remind themselves or try to convince themselves of something they don't fully believe.

For example, reserach how many times in a month he is making a speech and keeps reminding everyone he is POTUS. How many times does he say something along the lines of "... and I, as POTUS, will blah,blah,blah...."

All of the above and the fact that he falls so easily into a parent ego state when challenged (real or imagined) made me write him off in the first 7 minutes I ever heard him speak. His low self esteem screams for attention from the pages of his vulgar little books, IMHO.

Painfully easy to read.....

Calm everyone? he made those remarks over a year after 9/11.
Any POTUS who would make remarks condemning any major religion would be an idiot and the worst statesman in history.

Don't tell me you seriously believe Obama is a Muslim.

I agree.

Since Obie does not qualify AQ and the Taliban as true Muslims (Muslims are so very peaceful and these people aren't.), they are simply degenerates who the world needs to be rid of.

If he does not see them as a religious entity, why does he feel the need to continuously bring Islam into his speeches. EVERYTHING he says has something to do with Islam. I don't think I've ever heard him say anything without mentioning Islam.

If he does not equate them with religion, religion should be left out. So why bring it up in every sentence?

I must strongly and respectfully disagree. We are not soley fighting against AQ and the Taliban as you imply. We are fighting a global religious war against Radical Islam which is seeking world domination. "They" want us to believe we are not fighting against Islam, but that subversive belief will do nothing short of lulling us to sleep while they gain footholds in our legislature, our culture, and our poilitcal organizations.

Just look at what's becoming of Western Europe. There are more mosques than churches in London. Islam is (and has been) the national co-religion of Belgium since the 80's. With current immigration and birth rates, Germany will be Islamicized within 50 years. France is facing serious cultural issues with hijabs and burkas in public schools, hospitals, and other secure/sterile areas.

We're next unless we rapidly wake up and change course.

IMO, your hyperbole, your lack of effort to differentiate matters of opinion from matters of fact, and your determination not to do any actual research undermine your intellectual credibility.

FWIW, the following link takes one to the transcripts of the president's statements and speeches <<LINK>>. A casual exercise in pointing, clicking, and reading shows that in his recent statements with leaders of other nations, the president did not, as you suggest, mention Islam "in every sentence" or even at all. For example, on 24 November 2009, the president made no mention of Islam during a significant diplomatic event <<LINK2>>.

As an American President, should that even have to be noted?

I miss a POTUS who believes in American exceptionalism, and expresses it. I also do not feel that we have much to apologize for, given the reasons behind much of what we have done internationally, and our efforts have generally come from noble purposes.

Yes, we have made mistakes. No, I do not think that any other nation has spent as much blood and treasure as we have and asked for as little in return. I do not think that the POTUS, as the senior elected leader of this great nation, should bow to anyone or attempt to publicly apologize for our actions as a nation.

Just my .02, YMMV.
