British Teen Banned From U.S. for Life
Apparently, entering the country illegally, killing American citizens while driving drunk, etc., is not one of the 60 reasons.

British Teen Banned From U.S. for Life After Sending Obscene E-Mail to Obama

A British teenager who sent an e-mail to the White House calling President Obama a "pr*ck" was banned from the U.S. for life, The Sun reported Monday.
The FBI asked local cops to tell college student Luke Angel, 17, that his drunken insult was "unacceptable."
Angel claims he fired off a single e-mail criticizing the U.S. government after seeing a television program about the 9/11 attacks.
He said, "I don't remember exactly what I wrote as I was drunk. But I think I called Barack Obama a pr*ck. It was silly -- the sort of thing you do when you're a teenager and have had a few."
Angel, of Bedford, in central England, said it was "a bit extreme" for the FBI to act.
"The police came and took my picture and told me I was banned from America forever. I don't really care but my parents aren't very happy," he said.
A Bedford Police spokesman confirmed they had spoken to Angel about the e-mail. Officers will take no criminal action.
Joanne Ferreira, of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, said there are about 60 reasons a person can be barred from visiting America.
She said, "We are prohibited from discussing specific cases."

I wonder what would happen if I did that? Maybe freedom of speach only applies to certain people.

It might be interesting to read the e-mail this kid sent; I'd wager it said more than what he is willing to admit remembering.

Men in Black SUV's show up at your house, look around, talk to your neighbors, co-workers, check if your name or any of your associations are on the MIAC Report. Check what internet sites you visit and your phone records. Then look to see if you have firearms and if they are all registered and legal to possess. Then check your income taxes...etc.

Yes, the teenager CC'ed me on his email, he also said he had a copy of Mr. Obama's birth certificate indicating he was American born, and Obama's college application in which he stated he was a foreigner, Kenyan, student and should be allowed entry into the American college based solely on his Kenyan foreign student status.
I'd keep him out also.
I highly doubt the email said much more or the "Secret Service" would have happily said this teenager made threats...... thus ensuring their job security.

I think this breaking-news is a bit trumped-up. Without a court order, what are they doing to do?? Put the kid on the "do not fly" terrorist list??
Cursing POTUS is a national pass-time in Europe. You could include just about every PM from the UK, France, & Germany in the last 40 yrs on the "Band for Life" list..
And add the last 1/2 doz Popes...
Me thinks the SUN needed a little circulation help this week, other than page three(3)..

I use three different e-mail accoutns. Gmail, yahoo and one from my ISP. All three retain copies of outgoing e-mail. Drunk or not if this kid if this kid is telling the truth than all he has to do is look at his outgoing box and provide a copy of e-mail. It is fairly evident that this administration has a very thin skin but I doubt this kid found himself on the permanent persona non grata list for calling the President a prick.

It doesn't require a court order or a "no fly" listing to deny someone a visa.

Once President Clinton rolled through one of our areas. One of the units ran his license plate over our mobile digital terminal just to see how it would come back. He was met by secret service while walking to the parking structure to go home. Those boys have no sense of humor.

My family's house that I grew up in was across the street from St Rafael's Home for the Aged back in Columbus, Ohio. St Rafael's was originally George H.W. Bush's mother's or grandmother's house before it was donated to the Catholic Church. Anyway, when Bush senior was passing through at one point during his presidency, he opted to stop by and pay his respects. This was a surprise visit so there was little, if any, prior notification of his stop.
As my father's luck would have it, it was at that exact time that he was returning from the firing range. Understand, he was parked in the alley behind the house and had no idea, nor visibility of what was going on across the street in front of the house. Still, the secret service boys didn't appreciate seeing my dad hauling a scoped hunting rifle out of the truck on his way into the back of the house. Had it not been for the intervention of the local constabulatory, things could have gone very bad. They ran my dad's/family's background and confirmed dad was an upstanding citizen and honorable veteran (retired SF).
The secret service guys were courteous but stressed to my father that he not conduct himself in such an alarming manner (toting scoped rifles within 200m of the sitting president) in the future.
It's one of his favorite "No sh*t, there I was minding my own business stories" that he loves to regale family guests with.

I have a friend who is a retired USAF dentist and despises (in a literal definition of the word sense) the current POTUS. He's written some pretty scathing e-mails to the White House and once stated that the POTUS - because of his fiscal policies - had reason to fear for his security among working Americans. He received a visit once about four months ago at his practice by a pair of agents looking (he surmises) to gauge his general mental state after mentioning the POTUS's safety. He says they stayed about twenty minutes, were very polite, thanked him for taking his time and left. They gave him no warnings, advice, etc., and he hasn't heard from them since. He still sends e-mails to the White House and Congress when he's seriously upset over a policy decision.
The White House gets a lot of mail - both traditional and electronic, laudatory and uncomplimentary. It takes some pretty serious verbiage to garner the type of attention and reaction this British college student received.
And IMO the lame a$$ alcohol excuse this kid is using holds water like a collander.
