Signing in at 1st Group

As the title says, I'll be signing in at 1st Group (Ft. Lewis) later this month. I'm from the area so I was thinking about driving up and checking the base out before I have to report. Just curious if this is a good idea/necessary or if anybody would be interested in linking up to point me in the right direction (although I understand that most of you are probably very busy)?
