Seeking Communications Mentor
Greetings Quiet Professionals,
Many others have walked the pathway I seek to travel down. With great knowledge and experience have those men made themselves successful in their dreams and aspirations of becoming a Quiet Professional.
Here I am, a determined young man wishing to learn all he can. I wish to share in your knowledge and prepare myself as best as I can. I am seeking a eighteen series echo that would be willing to assist in mentoring me to help my dream come true.
This will not be an easy road, and with much humility I start my march down it. This site has been read hourly for many weeks now, in attempts to absorb as much as possible. I've recently acquired "Get Selected!", "Slow burn", "A Man's Guide to Meaning", and a few orienteering handbooks.
If anyone would be willing to help me down this path your aide would be very graciously appreciated. Any insight, suggested reading, suggested learning, suggested physical fitness will be taken on a highly serious level and applied as thoroughly as possible.
I thank all of you gentleman for your time,
-SimpleDreamer

Not to belabor the obvious, but most of the men who have gone before you and succeeded did so by following the instructions they were given.
Are you not confident in your ability to do that?

The Reaper, Sir,
I felt you would find your way to my post sooner more than later. I have faith that I am confident and competent in following directions. However, the instructor giving directions has a much more expansive range of knowledge rather than just the mere instructions. I wish to follow these instructions and have the ability to absorb more as well. The past is there for us to learn from, and that is simply my objective in this endeavor. There is always more to learn, and there is always more that is able to be taught.
Consider me a sponge, and the knowledge possessed on this website to be the water.
-SimpleDreamer
(Note - First lesson: Attention to detail and following directions. While the ability to follow this is a start, I will work on practicing and perfecting this method. Genuinely, every word on this forum is used in a constructive manner for betterment)

Are there, like, special schools you go to to learn to write like that? You know, sort of all oriental, zeny and ziggy with the Tao?
And if you respond with "Dozer, Sir," I will hunt down and I will find you.

Dozer,
I'll make a deal with you. I'll gladly teach you this form of tongue in trade for some echo mentoring.
Perhaps we can come to an agreement. =]

Reason: Change of humility.

Simple Question
SimpleDreamer, I have a simple question:
If you can't make it on your own like the rest of us did, why do we need you?
Read more, post less.
As a former 18E I will now offer you some advice: stop posting on this forum until after you have atleast actually completed basic, abn school, and are on your way to SFAS. By that time you will have a better understanding of you need to work on, if you actually like the service, and can then formulate intelligent questions.
The only language you need to have polished and practiced will go like this "Yes Drill Sergeant", "No Drill Sergeant", and "I can do that Sir/Sgt." In other words: Communicate like a professional soldier, unless you want unprofessional attention.
Good Luck

Now that is a deal! All I know about Special Forces 18E and you'll teach me a "form of tongue". Here it comes . . . wait for it . . . oh, got a pen? Good.
"Here, send this. Then we're leaving."

You need to use the Search button to find comments on "holes" and "digging".
If you keep this little game up, it is not going to end well for you.
In fact, you are already attracting attention that you may not want. Look up "the gray man" while you are at it.
This is the wrong way to get started here.

I have never heard that kind of subject matter-related advice put any better. I have practiced law for over 15 years, and have never had a law school professor or judge (federal or state) put it more effectively. I hope that you won't mind, blue02hd, if I spread that particular pearl of wisdom around as so many of us could greatly benefit from its application. I will give full credit to you, of course.
