Riddle me this....Riddle me that...
Here are some riddles. See if you can guess them all in under 60 seconds.
1.) A murderer is condemned to death.
He has to choose between three rooms.
The first is full of raging fires.
The second is full of assassins with loaded guns.
The third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years.
Which room is safest for him?
2.) Many many keys I have, but no door I unlock.
Four strong legs and enchanting voice, Yet I never run or talk.
What am I?
3.) Throughout history, there have been thousands of well-documented cases of horses jumping over towers and landing on clergy and small men, forcing their removal. When does this bizarre-sounding phenomenon occur?
4.) What do you throw out when you want to use it, but take in when you don't want to use it?

Two out of four?
I got the first two, but am still working on the last two. Hmmm, two out of four which makes 50%. I feel like I am back in high school . . .

Here's a few more...
5) What gets wetter and wetter the more it dries?
6) You throw away the outside and cook the inside. Then you eat the outside and throw away the inside. What did you eat?
7) What goes up and down the stairs without moving?
8) What can you catch but not throw?
9) I can run but not walk. Wherever I go, thought follows close behind. What am I?
10) What goes around the world but stays in a corner?
11) I have holes in my top and bottom, my left and right, and in the middle. But I still hold water. What am I?
12) Give me food, and I will live; give me water, and I will die. What am I?
13) The man who invented it doesn't want it. The man who bought it doesn't need it. The man who needs it doesn't know it. What is it?

1. IMO, the one with the lions who--if they haven't eaten in 3 years--are dead.
2. A piano.
3. When a knight jumps over a rook to capture a bishop or pawn in a game of chess.
4. An anchor.

I always enjoyed this one.
A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50."
The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less.
In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50. How did the man win the bet?

The carny wrote "Your Exact Weight" on the piece of paper.

A man is stranded on a desert island with only a calendar. A year later he was found alive. What did he eat for a year?

Here's a few more...
5) What gets wetter and wetter the more it dries?
- A towel?
6) You throw away the outside and cook the inside. Then you eat the outside and throw away the inside. What did you eat?
- An ear of corn?
7) What goes up and down the stairs without moving?
- The bannister?
8) What can you catch but not throw?
- Herpes (or a cold)?
9) I can run but not walk. Wherever I go, thought follows close behind. What am I?
- A computer?
10) What goes around the world but stays in a corner?
- A globe?
11) I have holes in my top and bottom, my left and right, and in the middle. But I still hold water. What am I?
- A human being?
12) Give me food, and I will live; give me water, and I will die. What am I?
?????
13) The man who invented it doesn't want it. The man who bought it doesn't need it. The man who needs it doesn't know it. What is it?
????
Those last two are tough...

Nothing. He was stranded on Dec 31st, and rescued on Jan 1st of the next year.

I initially thought of a fish, but then I realized.....an alcoholic Fire is the answer. The same could also be said I suppose about what gets wetter and wetter as it dries. An alcoholic going through detox
To the man who invented it riddle......The answer is a coffin.
