When I hear about such things, I cannot help wondering why the people don't do the paperwork to become an arms dealer. With some additional paperwork (form - 6?) they can import foreign weapons of war, and then can sell (export) the arms under the U.S. State Dept.'s ITAR. All legal, and perhaps even profitable for the more adventurous.

ATF Special Agent Heidi Wallace said much of the recovered ordnance was almost certainly stolen from the military because there is no other place to get it.

You can be assured that every lot number, DODAC, headstamp, as well as fingerprint and shipping label, is being dissected.

Someone is in deep shit, and it's not just the "heavyset bearded" defendant.
