Censorship?
First the NRA and now in your local media. Anything B-Ho doesn't want you to hear he has your local law enforcement make sure you don't hear it.

IMO, just more 'politics.' I notice when it came to LE, a Sheriff was named. Most Sheriff's in the South serve in an elected office and run under one political part or another for that election. My bet that Sheriff ran as a Democrat.

I don't know why but when I hear the term "Truth Squad" I think of a similar group from the past... Brown Shirts. I'm not sure we're all scared of the right thing right now. I hear the words Socialism, Communism, and Big Government being thrown around when Obama is the focus of discussion. I believe that we may be a bit off though. I believe the correct words to be tossing around now are Nationalism, Fascism, Nazism. B Ho is the closest match to Hitler I've seen or read about since, well, Hitler.
Edit to add: I don't just fear Obama anymore. I fear the fact that people in our country are getting a "tingle running up their legs". If not Obama to lead the Nazi-esque movement in this country, all it would take is another similarly charismatic character to lead us there.

history repeating itself
If memory serves, both Presidents Wilson and FDR had "squads" of one name or another to enforce their socialist/fascist agendas and silence anyone who voiced dissent by just about any means necessary.

Its not that he is just another liberal trying to "heal the world" that bothers me... What bothers me is that nobody seems to find anything wrong. Bush wants to use wire taps to catch bad guys, and he is treated like a criminal; Obama wants to gag his opponents and send them to siberia and nobody even seems to be the least bit upset about it.

Per my Brother in Law-yer:
Quote:
The prosecutors and sheriffs are free to speak out as citizens. They have no basis to prosecute anyone. There is no crime defined in Missouri statutes that would cover "misleading" campaign ads, and if there were, it would be struck down as unconstitutional in a heartbeat.. But the fact that the "truth squad" consists of law enforcement people is clearly designed to intimidate people into thinking that they could be arrested or prosecuted. How clever of the Obama campaign!

I will admit I don't know Missouri Law, but there would be no basis for this type of "enforcement" in SC law, and I find it difficult to believe any state in the Union would have laws that support this type of thing, further I totally agree with your brother’s assessment. This is a pure Gestapo tactic, to scare people, anyone who knows the system knows this is crap but most of your normal law abiding citizens don't know the system and as such can be intimidated. As a former local LE officer I find this use of their authority despicable. Each LE officer has a right to his or her own opinion, but when they put the badge and uniform behind their opinion it is an abuse of the power that the public has entrusted them with IMHO. If I were the Governor of Missouri I would immediately investigate all of these gov officials for abuse of their powers.

I don't care how many tin-horn sheriffs sign up for this. What IS concerning is that it includes prosecutors. THAT should be unacceptable to anyone. You can say there is no law that would cover it, but an unethical prosecutor would not be stopped by that. Check out your state's version of "disorderly conduct" for an overly broad law that can be charged against almost any conduct the prosecutor wants to discourage. Sure, it's unconstitutional and ultimately will be kicked, but that will be long after the election.
And if you think those fookin' prosecutors are ethical, I have one word for you. Nifong.

Obambi has started his “truth squads” in Pennsylvania
Obambi has started his “truth squads” in Pennsylvania.
This sounds like The good days at the end of the Weimar Republic

Obama launches Pa. Truth Squad
Article here

The latest target is the NRA and stations in Pennsylvania.
Copy of letter to stations is here

The NRA is fighting back, with action of its own, disputing the Obama claims.
The NRA says Obama's camp are sending out these "intimidating cease and desist letters" to cable operators and television stations, threatening their FCC licenses if they run the NRA ads.
