No town-hall debats for BHO
Obama backs away from any "town hall" debates with McCain.
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/08...s-with-mccain/
I guess this isn't really news, just another resounding change by Obama... Wait... maybe THATs that kind of "change" that all his campaign slogans refer too
I think John McCain needs to continue to have "town hall" meetings, and at every one he should make sure that he prominently displays a vacant podium, chair whatever with a nice "reserved for BHO" sign on it. And continue to state that Obama has an open invitation to "drop in" to any one of his meetings that he wants.

Pretty apparent that B-hO enjoys staged, screened and scripted performance, a Town Hall with McCain doesn't allow him that luxury.
I would truely enjoy watching a Town Hall sitting were the participants came to answer questions from people (not media) that were not screened. No teleprompters, no notes, no limits on questions just a bare knuckle debate.

LOL I like the idea of the empty podium with a Obama nameplate on the front and a banner over the top that says "Change"...
Next time around, McCain's campaign needs to print the invitation as a full-page add in a nationally-read newspaper. Sort of the wild-west shout from outside the saloon.

McCain needs to stop calling his town hall meetings "town hall meetings"... instead call them "town hall DEBATES" . Debates that would be happening but Obama didn't show up. Needs to reference the empty podium and point out that he went ahead and made room for him just in case he decided to show up anyway.
Here is the companion WEB /TV ad to your print ad:
Wild West Theme...(everybody in period costumes women with parasols, shop keepers, kids in knickers...the works) Hero outside the saloon calling out the bad guy to come out for a fair fight in public in the street people nodding in agreement/cheering...and the bad guy not coming out. Maybe even call Obama out by name?? Music, etc. in the saloon stops when the Hero calls the Obama Character out. People in the saloon clear out of the way giving a clear path/view to the saloon doors (maybe some run out leaving he doors swingin…) Old, Grizzled man at the bar trying to get "Obama" to go out in the street (Old GUY: "he's calling for you...the people want to see it"... (people in the saloon start nodding their heads saying "yeah" … OBAMA CHARACTER: (looking nervous) shakes head and looks down at the bar OLD GUY(shaking his head)"what? you mean you're not going to go?" Then fade to text with an authoritative sounding narrator explaining that Obama doesn't want to talk issues and why.
That campaign would be MONEY.

Wonder what the rock star is afraid of...
I'd love nothing more than for Obama and McCain to meet at a couple of town hall debates. I think that would be that for many people...

B-ho's actions and media complicity bring me a chuckle.
I can't help but think of Sir Robin and his minstrels (Monty Python).
Brave Sir Barack ran away.
Bravely ran away, away!
When danger reared its ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Barack turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
Bravely taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat,
Bravest of the brave, Sir Barack!
He is packing it in and packing it up
And sneaking away and buggering up
And chickening out and pissing off home,
Yes, bravely he is throwing in the sponge...

Excellant!
One addition....
Wild West Theme...(everybody in period costumes women with parasols, shop keepers, kids in knickers...the works)
Hero outside the saloon calling out the bad guy to come out for a fair fight in public in the street people nodding in agreement/cheering...and the bad guy not coming out. Maybe even call Obama out by name??
Music, etc. in the saloon stops when the Hero calls the Obama Character out. People in the saloon clear out of the way giving a clear path/view to the saloon doors (maybe some run out leaving he doors swingin…)
OLD, Grizzled man at the bar trying to get "Obama" to go out in the street
OLD GUY: "he's calling for you...the people want to see it"...
People in the saloon start nodding their heads saying "yeah" …
OBAMA CHARACTER: (looking nervous) shakes head and looks down at the bar
Camera zooms (close-up) to the Obama-character's holstered pistols......they aren't loaded....
OLD GUY(shaking his head)"what? you mean you're not going to go?"
Then fade to text with an authoritative sounding narrator explaining that Obama doesn't want to talk issues and why.

BINGO!
Great visual! THat's a keeper. I'm serious, this would be a winning ad.
There are many other potential great visuals. The "Hero" would have a dusty, "everyman," Bonanza character type of feel.... You wouldnt need to show his face ... just enough to make him look like one of them.
Party like atmosphere inside the saloon (maybe give it a name...show a sign as the camera pans in thru the swinging doors). With a fancy-dressed Obama Character inside. Party sounds, movement come to a screeching halt at the sound of the voice calling from outside.
ANOTHER OPTION:
Instad of giving the"dusty Old man" at the bar a speaking part another option would be to use a "boy" (newspaper boy in knickers??) coming in thru the swinging doors loudly announcing in an exciited voice that the "hero is calling for Obama to come out... and asking "what, you're not going to go?" (you know like he's astounded that the "fancy Obama gunfighter" woudl be too scared to go out.
In that case I'd still have the visual of the dusty old man next to Obama shaking his head and looking away like he's discgusted and ashamed.
My wife saw this and thought it was great. But then again she's a hardcore southern democrat turned republican.

Nerve too
BO had the gall to accuse McCain of not debating with him. What fine specimen.

I think it's time for McCain to sit in the gunner's seat of an AH-64 Apache and fly into an isolated Special Forces camp in Afganistan, greet the troops, have dinner with them and then fly out the same way.
Then show B. Hussein obama playing basketball in the "SAFE" zone with the "troops".

That's a great idea as well, using the newspaper boy, but.....it could backfire.
The dims could take that and spin it around later on.
The scene is set up like you've said, newspaper kid comes in and calls Egobama out......but in the Dims version, Egobama DOES come out, the good towns folks gather 'round to watch, and after several C/U of the 2 "heroes", Mac rides/runs off.
(Close up of newspaper kid tears in his eyes, and he's heard saying, like the end of Shane): "McCain come back....Come back McCain....McCain come back....
The Egobama consoles the newspaper boy saying, "Fear not young one. see McCain is afraid of CHANGE. And together with YOUR help, We can do it."
Then the town erupts in cheerful glea as the camera pans back to show a town dancing and singing again.
Fade To Black
You can't give the Dims ammo like that when it comes to visual media like that. After all, they Have most of Hollywood in their back pockets. They have the resources.

That's a good one too.
But I think a more powerful approach would be, to show McCain visiting wounded troops in a hospital, talking to them and sharing how he went trough treatment after receiving HIS battles wounds.....
Then show Egobama playing basketball in the "SAFE" zone.
I mean, isn't most of the country in "Support of the Troops" anyway? They say they are.
