Will the real QP's please stand up!!
Didn't know where to post this.
Ladies and Gents I present to you, posers in gaming community form:
3sfg[dot]com
I find this funny as I'm part of an online gaming community. We do 1st person shooters. We don't pose as something like this. Seems harmless right? Keep reading.
I hate posers. I'm a support Soldier. In fact the picture in the upper right of the webpage is of me, on the range. It was taken by one of our Group Combat Cameraman.
Now for the seriousness. I registered and I posted my feelings as follows:
Gents,
I'm sure we can all be adult about this. The picture in the upper right hand corner is of myself and other Soldiers assigned to the US Army Special Operations Command. I will respectfully ask, and strongly recommend the removal of government property from your website.
This again is a mere request. You have 24 hours or I will contact the appropriate authorities and you will be served with legal documentation to ask more firmly for the removal of material that is the sole proprietorship of the US Army, The US Army Special Operations Command and it's subordintate units.
This posting is one of personal nature and is in no way the final authority of the US Army Special Operations Command, the Public Affairs Office of USASOC, or the Inspector General of USASOC. I am speaking on my own behalf and not of that of the US Government.
Please feel free to email me on the registered email that is in my profile. Bear in mind that any attacks, however minute will be taken seriously and with the fullest extent of the law. I do not play, nor will I entertain the potential for threats.
Have a great day, and may you find the appropriate, and lawful material to launch your site.
Other than a simple request, what should I do besides contact USASOC myself (one of my Soldiers already has)? Legally, if they choose to not comply and decide to take the low road, what COA's would the real QP's recommend. I will get with the Bn JAG in the morning and see what he says. Just seeking some professional opinions.
PM me if you'd like.
I'm out of area for the time, but will check this periodically. So if I don't get back with you quickly, you know why.
SSG B

Nothing stopping these guys from being SF and engaging in real ground combat but a signature, the will, a year of training, and fifty pounds each.

Whatever this site is, judging by the number of posts and replies, it looks really successful.

They are the Urban Operations Task Force Gaming Clan. Pretty harmless.
Since the picture in question reveals nothing, I would take it as a complement that they chose to use it over the thousands of others out there.
But to each his own.

...but nobody forced you to register and there's no indications of anyone being forced to join their group - the post was in reference to you being the closest thing to a QP on the site. I'm usually clearer than that and will try to be so in the future. Sorry.*

Well, welcome to the world we live in. There are too many people like this out there to chase them all down. They put on all the accoutrements of a soldier and think it imbues them magically with something other men earn in the middle of the night in sweat, blood and swollen joints. They're a bunch of 9 year olds running around in the woods with sticks fighting the japs - only they're 27, and 34, and 40, or whatever. This is the Special Olympics of combat. I pity them.

Damn, I just commited beer abuse by snorting it out my nose.. warn me the next time will ya....
Richard you are forgiven. I am the one who needs a good slapping with the clueless stick. I got up at some ungodly hour to be AT work at 6am.. who the F does that.. geez.....I only get up at that hour for three things.. sex, sailing or money...this was money. I got the joy of staring at a computer scream from 6am to 4pm. By the time I escaped and got the priviledge of driving through downtown Baltimore at rush hour (at least it was not DC).. I was working on brain dead. I should not have opened my laptop until the 2nd Corona. oh well.. so much for stupidity... I cannot lay claim to a blond/hotflash/senior moment either.. so if i got embarassed it was my own darn fault. So who has the beer i am out... and I even admit to beer abuse. Cat rolled over fell off the dock I dropped a freshly opened beer to dive in after her. Again a brain fart moment she made the piling before I surfaced. Meanwhile the beer got spilled.. damn and its good beer too.

Cats can swim. Even the clumsy ones. Lost beer is gone forever.
