DLI Field Support Module

DLI has put up a Field Support Module website.
http://fieldsupport.lingnet.org/index.aspx

The website has MANY different countries and languages to choose from. Below is one small example from the Iraq section.

Sections are either broken down by language or country. Each section gives a area study of the target country. Here are the title headers for Iraq:

Iraq Area Studies
Iraqi Headstart
Iraqi Familiarization
Kurmanji Familiarization
Sorani Familiarization

The second and better part is the language module. It covers each country specific dialect of Arabic for example. I looked at both Saudi Arabic which I assumed to be MSA Arabic and Iraqi Arabic and they are in the specific dialects. Each word has a native speaker say it with a built in browser app along with written English, romanized pronunciation and Arabic script.

Here are the different language sections:
Air Crew language Guide
Basic Language Guide
Civil Affairs language Guide
Command and Control Language Guide (mp3)
Command and Control Language Guide (pdf)
Cordon & Search/Raid Language Guide
Force Protection Language Guide
Medical Language Guide
Military Police Language Guide
Navy Language Guide
Pronunciation Guide
Public Affairs Language Guide
Weapons Language Guide

No problem.

If anything its another source for review material in a handy format.

I don't know if you saw it before but they also have a download section for the audio files in a iPOD format. However I can't get it to work for me but maybe with your .mil access you can.

Cheers
