Been over a year

The story said he departed the hotel at 11:04 AM in his car. The story also says, but not go into detail, that some things do not match up with what the last person that saw him said. What are the details of that?

Also it says he departed in his car. It's been over a year. Have the tags been renewed, car found stripped or burned - car never found?

Find the car.

They found the car!!

Update:
http://www.wral.com/news/state/story/1109656/

Police Find Car of Iraq Vet But Don't Know What Happened to Him

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Police found the car of a missing Iraq war veteran who was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, but still do not know what happened to the man.

The 2000 black Honda Accord of Jason Michael Roark, 26, was found in a rest stop in Morgan County off Interstate 20, said Cpl. Darren Moloney, Gwinnett County police spokesman. The car was found in the past few days but Moloney did not know the exact date it was found. A search of the area did not reveal new information, he said.

Roark, who did two tours of duty in Iraq, was last seen leaving a Snellville, Georgia hotel November 9 in his car. Authorities do not suspect foul play but have not ruled it out. Police have no new leads and it is still considered a missing person case.

Roark left the Army in October 2005 and had been treated for depression and post-traumatic stress syndrome after returning from Iraq, his mother, Terry Roark, previously said. Roark had started a job as an assistant manager at Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Snellville three months ago. He had trouble readjusting to civilian life after his first tour in Iraq, she said.

At Fort Bragg, Roark served with a Special Operations Forces psychological unit. He enlisted in the Army after studying at the University of Florida.

Only rest stop

Only rest stop in Morgan county is on either side of the 105.

So either he parked the car and walked, hitchhiked, away or somebody else parked it there.

Finger prints or was it clean? Chances are that if he had mental problems, parked it and walked away he would not wipe down the driver's side and there should be a bunch of his prints in the area. Somebody else's prints or no prints, Hmmmm.

Then again, it was found in a very public place. Sure to be found as soon as the Alert went out and the first patrol car swung through.

I would concentrate my efforts on the cellphone usage. All tolls and all towers that the cellphone was pinging off of to retrace his steps and his contacts on that day/night.

The fact that the phone was on they should have "pinged" it to determine geographical location of the phone. I assume they did this, but then again, perhaps not.

There was a statement that the phone was inactivated and then reactivated, this does not happen without recorded phone calls for request of service. Again when the phone was reactivated "pinging" would have positioned the phone within a certain tower range.

There are some other thoughts and procedures but will assume "all" the bases were covered, making my comments redundant.

GAPPI Member Bob Poulnot
Investigates Soldier’s Disappearance

Submitted by Dave Basham
Written by Arielle Kass, Gwinnett Daily Post
www.gwinnettdailypost.com ~ December 26, 2006

Lawrenceville — A private investigator searching for a
missing soldier from Snellville doesn’t think the 26-yearold
disappeared on his own.
“There’s no evidence he did not leave of his own
volition, but my gut feeling is he did not leave of his own
volition,” private investigator Bob Poulnot said.
“Everything seemed to be going better in his life at the time
of his disappearance.”

Poulnot said he found the 2000 black Honda Accord
belonging to Jason Michael Roark at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 13.
Poulnot would not say what led him to the Morgan County
rest stop off Interstate 20 where the vehicle was found, but
said he is continuing to follow leads in the case.

Roark was last seen Nov. 9 around 11 a.m. on a
surveillance video from the Gwinnett Inn Motel in Lilburn,
Poulnot said.

Witnesses told Poulnot the car had been parked in front
of a building that contains bathrooms and vending
machines for about a month, the private investigator said.
Neither Poulnot nor about 30 Gwinnett County police
officers who searched the area found any sign of Roark,
and Poulnot said the soldier’s keys were not near his car.
The rest stop does not have any full-time employees,
Poulnot said, and groundskeepers leave about 11 p.m. They
return to work about 7 a.m.
“The car just appeared one morning,” Poulnot said. “I
have no idea why that wasn’t reported.”

Poulnot said Roark, who has served two tours of duty in
Iraq, had no connection to the area. He had trouble
readjusting to civilian life after his first tour of Iraq, his
mother said previously, and had been treated for depression
and post-traumatic stress syndrome since returning home.
Roark first enlisted in the Army after studying at the
University of Florida and served with a Special Operations
Forces psychological unit.

Texas Equusearch, a professional search and rescue
team, already has looked for Roark in the Snellville area,
Poulnot said. Team members are expected to return again to
search Morgan County before Christmas.
Poulnot said Roark had been enjoying his job at the
Texas Roadhouse Grill and usually arrived for work an
hour early. He also talked to his mother on the phone nearly
every day.

“I believe he did not drive that car,” Poulnot said.
“Things are pulling me away from any self-infliction of any
type. I just don’t suspect suicide.”
Anyone with any information about Roark is asked to
call the Gwinnett County Police Department at 770-513-5300.

The crappy thing about this whole mess is what the SO said to her "unless you can put a body on my desk get out of here" I personally talked to the women and to prove it is a small world she manages the McDonalds right down the road.

I really what to find this kid I think he came back and got hooked into some new friends trying to get readjusted and was a lil more on the trusting side and met some foul play at least with the cell phones.

The police will not release her son's phone records so she is trying to do it federally. She has been trying for awhile to find some divers to dive certain water well I found her somebody I think!

I would like to invite her over here and maybe you guys could maybe unlighten her on some ideas or possiable theroies

Cowboy,
The statement in quotations does not meet the smell test. If this statement was in fact made, she would have several avenues to pursue. The starting point would be the offending officer/investigator's supervisor.
