General Petraeus' Message
General Petraeus' message to the troops.
Well-written, let's see if the actions back the words.

Let's see if Congress gives the 100% support that they promised him.

Maybe he should ask Congress to give the boys another chance, and to hold off on the surrender, I mean "Peace With Honor" documents for a little while longer.
I am sure that it is tough sitting in their offices on Capitol Hill, voting on pet projects and earmarks while stuffing money in their freezers, but if the troops are still willing to fight, shouldn't Congress be?

TR, one day you will have to really tell us what you think of our "leaders / lawmakers" on the hill..........

General Petraeus might be the worst thing to happen to the Dems and the insurgents! I hope he is so successful that the ratio of virgins to martyrs becomes inverse.

Gen David Patraeus
The expectations for General Petraeus to be able to turn this thing around are so high that they love him now, but they'll burn him in effigy if he fails to live up to their expectations. I applaude his plan to move the troops out of the FOBs and into patrol bases among the populace - it's pure FID - but they'll be more casaulties. Dems hate casualties in a war.
The first thing I learned in the SFQC is that I'd rather be a guerilla than have to fight one.

The problem is that there are less and less of us who think like this...
More and more it’s the rise of the folks from the left that for the life of me I can't understand
I may need to pursue a degree in political science to understand them.( The school of hard knocks didn't offer a degree in P.S.)

Speaking of this...today the USASFC CG spoke to my training class and his words mirrored alot of what was said in that brief. Although I skimmed most of it(its chow time) the idea that we need to get among the people and not be affraid to risk our soldiers is exactly the way that he is trying to take things among our community. Its nice to see that the opinions up high are alligned properly.

Now what was that about congress...

People are not normally born leftists, but overly permissive, nambyist, sheeple parents and sixteen years of education, largely staffed at the upper levels by leftover 60's loons and America Haters, and indoctrinated by every major MSM network, newspaper, and magazine for 18 hours per day creates and sustains them.
People believe what they are told, and they are told in virtually every story that we are wrong. Perceptions are everything and are based on what we receive for input. Garbage in, garbage out, with a little methane.
Just my .02, YMMV.

Sir, agreed!
It is a good thing the General was not brought up that way.
IMHO, people in politics will always attempt to manipulate the "American Public", because of this very fact. Wake-up America.
