How to re-waterproof canvas...

I have an old canvas water basin dating back to the 50's. She has served me very well over the years of backpacking and camping.

How can I re-waterproof her preferrably using something non-toxic. I know there are waterproofing chemicals out there but I am not sure they would do my face any good in the long run.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Works great on old canvas Barbour jackets, ought to work on a basin too...
