Libtard speak. NYC is the largest gun free zone in the United States. Which adds to it's attraction by islamic terrorists.
The NYPD has the same chance of "protecting" their citizens as the U.S. government has shutting down our borders to illegals.

New York City officials vowed that they were prepared to handle any terror threat late Wednesday after a video released by ISIS praised the recent attacks in Paris while using previous footage of a suicide bomber preparing to attack Times Square.
The video's release came just before the city goes into full holiday mode, with next week's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade followed by the Christmas tree lighting in Rockefeller Center on Dec. 2. These and other events attract tens of millions of visitors each year.
Police Commissioner William Bratton described the video as "hastily produced," while Mayor Bill De Blasio insisted that New Yorkers "should continue to go to work, live their lives, and enjoy the greatest city in the world."
"Be aware, but do not be afraid. The NYPD will protect you," Bratton said. "We cannot be intimidated, and that's what terrorists seek to do. They seek to create fear. They seek to intimidate. We will not be intimidated, and we will not live in fear."
The video, released by ISIS’s media arm the Furat Media Center, features several men, some speaking in Arabic and French, congratulating ISIS over the Paris attacks and promising that terror group will prevail.

Reassuring scary crowd is no easy task and I commend his effort....but isn't the above a false advertisement? It's akin to an ER staff telling a severely ill person with no certainty of outcome "It's gonna be ok. You will be ok"

Attempting to rally a dying person is much different than reassuring sheeple.
Telling the sheeple you "will" protect them is very socialist/communist and a leftist lie.
Everyone is already forgetting the Boston bombing, there was law enforcement security everywhere..........
Do we need to go over the three types of bad-guys again?
Criminals, Crazies and Crusaders. Cops deal with the first two on a daily basis. Criminals can be negotiated with, sometimes crazies can too. Crusaders do not negotiate. Crusaders have always been the responsibility of the Armed Forces, until the left-wing liberals came into power.
Now you have "special agents" overseas doing a job they were never trained to do. And you have cops facing "refugee" crusaders and also attempting to do a job they were never trained to do.
The islamic cowards know only one force and that is brute force and that cannot be applied in the United States.
All it's going to take is a few beheadings inside of the United States to get the sheeple whipped up into full frenzy mode.
That day is approaching exponentially by inviting our enemies into our country. Again by the socialist zelots.
