CNN Republican Debate

On CNN right now, there are a lot of ego's on that stage.

My quick $.02 impressions,

Quote:
Newt Gingrich- very intelligent, eloquent, and old.

Herman Cain - charismatic, comes across as high integrity.

Rick Perry- arrogant, bullying, and dull.

Ronn Paul - very sharp, creative and libertarian, but too out there.

Mitt Romney - calm and competent, comes across a bit blue blood.

Michele Bachman- folksy and dull.

Rick Santorum- weak, whiny, and snarky.
I was most impressed by Newt and Cain. Anyone else watching, thoughts?

It pissed me off that everyone is all of a sudden against consumption taxes because Cain is doing well advocating one. What a bunch of whores on that stage. Gingrich is the only candidate I like besides Cain at this point.

Perry is done.

RL, I agree. Romney and Perry are in their own little world. They act more like two kids trying to prove which one is the king of the sandbox. I still think Ron Paul is a little out there, but I like what he said about how he would take $1T out of the budget immediately. Cain and Ginghrich might make a pretty good team though. Ideas and experience.

Agreed. It's a mess.

These debates make most of the candidates look like bickering children. I can't really stand to watch them.

I would prefer that the debates be formatted so that the candidates counter the current administration rather than bicker amongst themselves. But with cables news programs hosting the debates, I won't look for that any time soon.

Considering that last night was a CNN run event, the left got the Republican candidates to do exactly what the left wanted them to do. Presidential candidates that start bickering look less "Presidential" ,CNN won the debate last night, IMHO.

I think CNN wanted the candidates to distinguish themselves based on their own plans. They have been lambasting the current administration all campaign long. That dead horse has been beaten enough IMO.

Hey - he's a senior citizen, a successful businessman, theologically neutral, and loved throughout the world...and the pitch of his voice leaves everyone wondering about his []...the perfect candidate in today's world.

Well, I know people here in Hollywood who have worked with him. They say that, off screen, he's a real rat.

That explains it - a born politician! Maybe I'll go with Jefferson Smith then.
