I'm not sure it falls into the baliwick of Lesko Brandon and the Routine Crimes Unit. But I'll go out on a limb & bet their decision was based more on "Holy Shit we can't continue to have all these essential people out of the supply chain for 10 days at a crack!" and less about suddenly discovering after 2 years that transmissibility is magically halved.
