I'm not an expert on LRRPs but IIRC there was two different colors on the main meal foil pack. The post VN meals came in a brown plastic bag but for a while the foil pack was brown, in later years they became an OD green. Also, I think the brown bags had a card board piece on the bottom of the meal bag. Did the green ones have that piece. The bag in the picture is missing that bottom piece.
LRRPs and Cs went out and a new day dawned with the MRE. Never was too hot on MREs.
I had some of the cold weather rations in the early 90s. They were pretty good. Basicly a LRRP main meal with a bunch of extra power bars, candy, hot drink mix and soup stuff.
