The folks at Apple realized their products weren't competing with wintel so they had to do something. Mac's OSX is actually an Apple GUI on top of a Linux kernel....just another attempt to change they way they do business.
Nothing wrong with it, I just get tired of hearing how visionary Macs are. They do handle graphics like no one's business though.
