The same Defenselink release that noted BG Phelan going to USASOC indicated that BG James Schwitters was going from CG of the Coalition Military Assistance Training Team in Iraq, where he was in charge of training the new Iraqi Army, to CG of Fort Jackson. That seems like a step down for someone with his special operations background, but maybe he can re-energize basic combat training. BG Schwitters' replacement in Iraq is BG Daniel P. Bolger, who writes an awful lot of books.
