Hoepoe,

It seems like the hostilities between Palestinians and Israelis have been going on forever. While I'm not entirely educated on the situation, from what I have seen, there are groups on both sides who won't accept anything other than the "defeat" of the other side.

Even with many people on both sides negotiating for peace, there are still groups who insist on continuing the violence and the conflict. Often times this leads to the breakdown of whatever truce or agreement is in place.

It gets depressing, and discouraging. So, my comment that "Sometimes I think the only end to this will be Mutual Destruction" stems from the thought (pessimistically so) that the only end will be the two groups (Isrealis and Palestinians) destroying each other out of their hatred and unwillingness to move on. The term "Mutual Destruction" probably shouldn't have been capitalized as it alludes to the common tearm Mutual Assured Destruction through nuclear weapons, which is not what I meant.

I hope I wasn't being disrespectful, and that the above clarifies what I wrote. I know that there are strong feelings and bloodshed on both sides of the issue; with that said, a lasting peace seems very far away.

Respectfully,
Aric
